What I am saying is that you told things that some people think, without giving examples, you just used cheap tricks to prove your point is the proper one.
Oh sorry I used a bad word, it won’t happen again.
That is the purpose of this thread. For people to come in and share their own experiences on the culture change of MRP.
Its not about using bad words. Mentors should be models players in the community. Coming into threads throwing insults and logical fallacies is not something you should be doing. You should be promoting civil discussion of ideas.
But you stated it, if I understand this correctly, as ‘ye MRP people think this is shit, but we don’t need their opinion, because mostly they do have that opinion and MRP is shit now’.
We can all agree admins leave a little to be desired though
But the Newton’s bring me hope
Sure, come join us as a model of this society, you’d fit right in.
I personally think the admins are ok. They have just carried the lrp mentality over to mrp.
Logical fallacies without giving example, ye. Also mentors are to tell people how to do things without spoiling shit for the round.
Edit: If you really think mentors are to be the most excellent ones in the beecommunity, then you clearly don’t know how it looks like
This is vague as all hell. Provide specific examples of behaviour which you think is wrong and what you think is right in order to see any change. There’s new council rulings constantly so if you have a worthwhile idea I don’t see why it wouldn’t get implemented.
Good, some examples to analyse.
First murderboning isn’t allowed so you should ahelp if you see that happen. If a traitor wants to roleplay guilt and turn themselves in I mean sure? If you want to go ahead and do that.
Breaking and entering is an IC issue, can’t do much about that except ensuring security is popular and hasn’t got their hands tied when dealing with criminals.
Suggestion from another thread:
Yesterday Scando argued that “item spotting” i.e. noticing that a pen is a sleepy pen, or an ID is actually an agent ID, etc is the sort of change he’d like to see.
By giving a specific suggestion it makes the point actually possible to analyse. The consensus so far is “no, that’s HRP” but the topic is still open to debate. This is the kinda way discussions become productive instead of just whining without any real solutions.
Give personal account of the state of things, and invite others to do so and share their thoughts and experiences.
Mentor screeches HOW DARE YOU NOT PROVIDE EXAMPLES then continues to do the same thing, but without inviting people to share their experiences. Gets called out, and mentally cornered, now just doing 1 line replies to discredit the topic and discussion as a whole, because his feelings were hurt and not acknowledged.
I invited people to openly post their experience and discuss the topic, screeching about not providing examples is autistic and cringe .
makes multiple accusations of MRP being LRP
provides no examples
“heyyy I invited PEOPLE to post their experiences, not me!”
Okay, and? You, in your first responses, stated that just general things, that some MRP people think, that this ain’t right, and you clearly stated that you don’t need to make any argument since SOME people have run into same issue. You are just stating that you and fellow seekers of MRP experience have agreed upon something and ye, that’s it.
Admin conduct in the sense that X admin unjustly bans you and YZABC admins are powerless to intervene would be something I’d like to see changed
I’ll provide an example of my personal experience.
Be clown, do almost nothing, Zane Blake runs up to you, silently flashes you, cuffs you, starts searching your bag. When you protest and RP it out, like a brick wall he mumbles 1 line back at you “blue rand search” – then just grabs you and silently tosses you in the brig for 5 minutes, without ever adhering to any semblance of proper brigging procedure or even so much as setting your arrest record. Proceeds to stun cuff and ignore any RP while he then tries to valid hunt his next victim. Then does not clear your wanted status (which should have been incarcerated at the very least, if not discharged) and arrests you again and the whole dance starts over again.
Nothing about this interaction was roleplayed, nothing about it was medium. Just some guy out to play sec the way he sees fit, and without any hint of roleplay or interest in being a spessman on a station.
People like this, there is no nuance to them, they are one dimensional beings, who are extremely outcome dependent. There is absolutely no middleground, no immersion to be had, these people are not playing to roleplay, but are playing to min/max their own personal experience. This behavior is not only tolerated by admins, but down right encouraged.
That’s what I mean, feel free to share your own personal experience.
One question, have you ever played security on high pop round?
Many, many times.
I have experienced this exact behavior at 1am when MRP is typically low pop as well, so that is not even a real excuse.
I play security all the time, and having to deal with officers trying to execute prisoners “because they are valid” Is extremely frustrating to anyone who wants to role play out the process. These prisoners might even be innocent, and have found a traitor item on the ground etc.
I don’t think I’ve seen a capital crime go to trial once on MRP ever since LRP crashed.
Okay, so you have never seen shifts when you have only 1 or 2 fellow sec officers, half of station is screaming for help and you do everything to keep every shitter in cell and then go catch more? You seem to think that sec is pretty chill, but when they see any sus behaviour they keep you in cell 4noraisin. In reality, brig is overcrowded, there aren’t cells for everyone, there aren’t officers to make proper birg procedures, because they are fucking needed in the field, and not arguing with every dude in brig if he should get 3 or 5 minutes sentence.
