Acasta recovered 2 audio logs, the nuke codes, the nuke disk, and 4 documents.

Acasta left with 0 important casualties.

I love the idea behind the event, I love attention to details like signs of what happened on Ahmed or holopad recordings

But it was very chaotic.
I was on Acasta and I had no idea what was going on even though I was trying to read every single word that was said, half of what I understood from story and what we were doing or even where we were came mostly from sitting in front of bridge and listening to command talking with each other. Radio was an incoherent mess since both shuttles and, I believe, some people who stayed behind on station were all talking on same frequency. Few briefings to crew that we had were done so randomly that most people from our shuttle missed them and didn’t know what we were suppose to do.
After we fled from Ahmed we made few jumps between z levels without even knowing (i’m describing it from perspective of crew) where are we going only to suddenly see “OOC: WhyisCaeciliusTaken: well, I suppose it’s time for wrap up” after which a poll was made if we should wrap up and majority voted yes which confused me even more since I didn’t feel like we even started.

If this or any similar event would be held again (and it should because idea is solid) I would change few things:

-Give crew of each shuttle different radio frequency or just key to different department channel so Acasta could have used exploration or engineering while Ardent could have used security channel (the only moments where radio was usable came from the fact that most if not all engineers were part of same shuttle so at least things said on engi channel were relevant to what was happening around me)

-Make commanders of shuttles use loudspeak, and only them, there should not be any heads from regular station assignment and if they somehow were to appear on shuttles it should be made clear that they are not in command and should not use loudspeak not to confuse people

-Instruct commanders to do briefings by radio and basically announce everything including taking off cause even these were taking us by surprise

-If Acasta was a backup shuttle and was suppose to come to play only if Ardent crew gets killed, at least that’s how I understand the fact that we literally spent few minutes on Ahmed and then came back to our shuttle for the rest of event, at least give them some RP objectives that could be abandoned in case they will be required to help other team. Have them document the damages (with cameras, audio recorders, forensic scanners and reports written by them on paper), have them identify and bag dead bodies, have them set up a source of power, fix air and refuel the shuttle, remove and secure plutonium cores from warheads etc

-Also if you have teams using shuttles make shuttles look differently from exterior, when we were fleeing from Ahmed crews mixed up because people went to wrong shuttles. Make their exterior walls from different materials or even just plop lights on them with different color

I wouldn’t mind playing this event again, even with exact same scenario since I missed a lot of it. A lot of people were blaming certain players afterwards but I don’t think that’s fair, complete chaos in communication was the biggest problem and I regret I missed so much (and I apparently missed a lot, I knew only about 1 holopad disk, nothing about code, documents and nuke disk) even by being few tiles too far and not knowing that something was happening but if I managed to stumble on briefing or conversation they seemed competent and were actually passing clear informations.

So yeah, if Cae or other admin was willing to run it once again with few minor, mostly organizational, changes I would gladly participate , and I believe that it should happen since so much work was put into preparing shuttles and scenario, it would be simply wasteful to use it only once

For those who wanted to know what was the mistery to solve on the Ardent mission (combat ship)

''This happened on the ship with the warheads/haunted ship

First half, a traitor impersonated an officer and killed the security team, he died on the process while grabbing the nuclear warhead in the shootout against the officers guarding it
Second half: the admiral daughter(the CE) blew up the SM by incompetence but placed the fault on an engineer that got mangled and hanged, he returned as a ghost to haunt the ship and pointed us towards a security officer who had all the proof on a disk to release it to the press

We confroted the admiral, and killed him

In the mean time the ship also got attacked by nukies and before that we rescued a NT officer from russian fellas’’

I’ll prolly post the event feedback later

Clarification: The Acasta was meant to be the exploration and repair ship that was going to do the heavy lifting with repairing the ship and figuring out what happened.

Problem is that entire plan went out the window when someone placed C4 on the hull of the Acasta, forcing its HOT AND SEXY CAPTAIN to leave. And because of the entire fiasco with the Ardent being… lost? Stolen? Something? I was never given word it was safe to go back. And by the time I wanted to go back anyway, there were 4 interdiction sites in the same area and telling which was the “Crash site” was impossible.

Yes, I’d be down to do it again if like all of these were done. It was fun but I had no idea what was going on and radio chatter was a mess

Oh yeah… I think I had the other three audio logs, but ended up getting shot to death.

I was on the ardent the entire time and still have no idea what the fuck happened

prelude:
the main issues i had with the start was the amount of people who wanted to join the ships. i couldn’t really keep control on who was part of my crew or not, and after retrieving my blind roboticist I came back to my ship being deconstructed, and there still wasn’t enough space for everyone.
solution: bigger ships or smaller crews

during the event:
after interdicting the ghost ship, everyone moved onto it and started finding clues and loot. in the chaos of it all, I managed to gather all the notes and evidence(except the ones that were lost somehow) and brought them to the Acasta. when trying to return to my own ship, i was surprised to see that someone in my crew had hijacked it without a word and left, leaving about 80% of the crew stranded at the ghost ship during the event, where we all died without any idea what was going on, or where our ship went
