while I personally don’t really like a role above captain, this would defeat the purpose of CAA, imagine:
-no captain you can’t commit war crimes on station!!! I will report this to CC
-yeah, with what access

This seems like it could be a report. Might as well write it up if you feel it was grief and it went down exactly like that.
yeah i am fucking desperate to post on the verbal abuse subforum at all opportunities
You’re right, its not. Want to know what is being a shitter?
I won’t even touch player reports but I could really continue to go on.
da average backseat admin CAA enjoyer
And if the CAA is a disruptive shitter, command is powerless until/unless admins answer.
Caps are held to the highest standard and a lot gets bwoinked / banned already for being Bad caps.
In the end, it boils down to who is accountable/responsible to CC.
And if command abuses this the second CAA Can report them…on top the report command needs to send to CC
Stop being a shitter and you won’t have to worry about CAAs or admins going after you.
Yeah, sometimes there’s gonna be roles that work in tandem with admins. It’s a good way to help get the playerbase and staff working in a complimentary way, often through methods of early intervention the likes of which are mentioned ITT.
Some players want to actively make the server a better place. It’s a noble attempt, I’ll respect and defend their choice to do so.
You’re assuming that all CAA players are saints who never bring OOC issues IC or act like asses. It’s just not true.
Backseat adminning is cancer for a variety of reasons.
I’m not gonna say some of your fears aren’t warranted because I think CAA’s should be locked behind playtime on the server, as well as demotion by heads should be possible by them contacting CC. I’d hate for a new account to join in as CAA to start griefing.
So is being shitter, in fact it’s more so. Backseat adminning at least has the offchance to actually stop things from actively getting worse and helps players and staff work together better. Worst case backseat admins get told to cut it out and they generally listen.
Shitters on the other hand do not listen, admins or otherwise.
Right because directly witnessing you ignore SOP as a warden and babyrage at the captain who tries to demote you is OOC.
Again most of your issues would disappear if you pulled your act together.
CAA can’t just do whatever, they are specifically restricted by heads and CentCom in their actions. In this way, they act as a second set of eyes to a head’s judgement; if the heads refuse to act, then the Captain’s judgement; if the Captain refuses to act, then the admin’s judgement. If admins aren’t available, then it ends there. They can’t just choose to claim someone is breaking SoP as they see fit, they are the IC enforcers of SoP, and getting reported by them implies you have either broken SoP, or it is a mistaken decision by the heads / captain.
I think you just don’t wanna RP

If you consistently and repeatedly find yourself getting trouble or flak for the things you do as a command / sec player, have you considered that the issue might not be that you’re getting metagrudged, but rather that you are not a good fit for command / security? The fact that you’ve ate multiple security / command bans, and you’ve got more player reports than most people get during their stay on Beestation… shows.
CAAs are the only thing making me consider coming back to Bee, because having someone whose specific job is to act as a check for heads / security breaching SoP while the heads exist primarily to lead and organize, is… overall a good thing. Expecting heads to be able to gather evidence for SoP breaches and demotions all while leading their workers, especially for a role like HoS, is a bit much, and relegating the task is much easier. And besides, they can’t do anything if they aren’t already right to begin with. If you find yourself being targetted by CAAs a lot, maybe, y’know, follow SoP. Because, again. They literally can’t affect you if you don’t. The fact that most everyone has told you over and over again in this thread that you’re wrong should spark something. Introspection does wonders on the journey of self-actualization, please consider it.
Hard agree with both of these points, though I’m pretty sure the latter is already possible, as it should be. CAAs could probably be locked behind command hours to ensure that those working CAA know how to act as trusted heads of staff and lead as needed. It might make it a less popular role due to time requirement, especially considering being a lawyer / CAA is a lot different from acting as a head, but that’d make the most sense to me.
I’d go so far as to say more command hours than needed for captain. Should be lumped in under command bans as well. You really need to
In-lore Fatebinder also cant do whatever, as their boss, Tunon, will whip their ass if they missuse their position , but yes, CAA do have security/Head of staff/Captain/Admeme to do the actual dirty work .
I just cant think of other game where you do those kind of work, finding and solving conflict/chaos by restoring order, mostly with words.
Backseat adminning is cancer for a variety of reasons.
There is no “variety of reasons” here.
The only reason why you think it’s cancer is because now you’re gonna be held accountable for your actions.
Maybe actually read the rules and follow SOP and stop being a little bitch baby.
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
The admins are there for that, not random players pretending harassment makes the server better.
is there a joke here that i’m not getting? my only guess is that its a better call saul joke
it’s uh a bit complicated to explain
Congrats, you made me feel old.
This is 20 years old now.
Two decades.
And the series was already old enough at this point that they felt it was time to change the main character’s outfit.
