AI tired of being round removed as the first step in every blood cult shift

It happens every time.

It’s got to the point where if I don’t have a shell or a borg immediately move me when I get even an inkling of cult being on the station, I get round removed with zero counterplay by a wraith construct that has a no LOS needed jaunt.

A lot of times it’s literally the first thing cult does. As in, the first thing they do to go loud. It sucks, man.

Any recommendations for fixing it? making Wraith construct jaunts line-of-sight? Maybe giving the RD a pinpointer to a dead AI core? Suggestions welcome.

There could be some kinda AI conversion for them? Kinda like a ghost, but with some powers attached? Turning the AI into another cultist drone could be a thing.

I mean, the ai tends to go first in any large scale crew mutiny / attack on the station / xenos. The ai is just such a powerful tool for the station that its stupid not to go for it. It’s ability to block entry to any room and callout positions of any antag makes it several times harder to do anything as an organised group of antags.

Make the AI less powerful and maybe it won’t be instantly rushed.
Like, what do you expect, really ? You have the power to alert everyone to the enemy’s position and lock them down entirely while subversion is nigh impossible now
Communication is the strongest weapon and cutting out the major source of information and biggest hindrance ASAP is just the only logical play you could take, no doubt

Can’t you break the walls around AI so that your laser turrets would be able to reach anyone that appears infront of you? I thought that was the basic counter for AI, but at the same time it felt OOC knowledge

When you sign up to be an AI, you sign up to observe, open doors and talk shit all round.
i can only speak formyself i guess, but im pretty sure being an AI main is a masocistic tendency.

So im not sure its realy an issue that you get rushed sometimes as AI.
Yea, it sucks balls in the moment but its the trade off you have to pay for being the all seeing eye.
i realy never minded it that much, its better this way then to have the AI nerfed to the point of not being fun/opressive anymore.

Silently subverting the AIs laws has been made pretty hard, which adds to the desire to just kill it. Espechaly when a jaunt is easily available, like with bloodculties.
So that didnt help, why was that made harder again exactly?

but uh, if we’re talking blood culties specificaly - if there is to be a change at all, then letting them convert the AI like clockies can would proabbly be nicest, i agree.
Though i remain unconvinced its realy needed, that’d probabbly work best. Though it makes less sense to do setting/lore wise for bloodies then it does for clockies i guess

Although actualy i just remembererd something
isnt the AI satelite supposed be a teleport protected zone?

this has litteraly never worked at all as far as i remember the last 5 years, but i feel like that was supposed to be the case and just never was.

AIs do be VERY strong against cultists. Like, insanely strong. Simply from your ability to communicate and allow traversal for Security and hinder traversal for you guys.

Made a guide for it. It ain’t hard. Also, I forgot to mention it, but the RD doesn’t have any mind shield, nor will the HoP be against promoting someone to acting RD if there is none. So… yeah, both has happened to me.

Most ai sats literally have beacons and teleporters there though. Also i dont think Ive seen anyone teleport into the sat.

The best shot AI/Sec has is prioritizing the (probably busy or absent) Chaplain to bless their main core area so at least the cultist doesn’t teleport on top of you and kills you, usually most cultists do it when they’re about to go loud or are already going loud

AFAIK, it blocks SOME of it, like abductors (due to some pretty bonkers strat).
Rest of the TPs works fine.

I typically do that as a non-antag. Especially if I’m gonna abuse the hand teleporter and teleport all over the God damn place holy fuck we’re so slow sometimes!!

Also, fun fact, you can use a Bluespace Launch Pad to steal the AI. Even if the AI is bolted down. :3

No it is hard. It literally isn’t done anymore.
Source: trust me (I think I’m in the running for the most AI hours)

It’s usually the first thing they do in my experience. The limit is usually the speed at which they can make a wraith

Honestly if it was conversion (subversion or otherwise) I wouldn’t mind. It’s just the round removal that’s stinky.

Depends on the goal of each antagonist. Sometimes I don’t do it because there is no other oppositionen other than the AI or some other reason. I have a low desire to do it. If you have an RD who knows what they are doing and you aren’t going super stealthy, sure it is gonna be hard then.

Not gonna lie, I’ve done this too as a cult. AI is simply too strong against cultists. Perhaps there should be a passsive jammer ability for halo cultists? When it comes to cameras only.

Jammers are currently underpowered due to obviously being syndicate caused. A jammer effect for cult would be great for both helping cultists and muddying the water for OOC knowledge, but it should be a temporary spell to not make late game ais completely blind during cult rounds.

If I successfully avoided destruction I want to be able to see.
