Part of Admin Conduct Broken: #8. Ticket Conduct, specifically 8.1, "Admins should reply to every ticket even if it’s not relevant, inform the player of why before closing it. (Not #2, as my job ban may be due to a misunderstanding on how my virus worked, and this is not the thread for that)
Incident Description: I made a harmless joke virus with blood infectivity and a cure of sugar, that I went around infecting people with. (See the ban appeal thread for the symptoms, I've explained it like 4 other times across this forum, and I'm tired of explaining why making someone grow a beard, change color, and say "Abra kadabra" while honking isn't harm.) You might be thinking, "well yeah, you can't go around infecting people as viro" and you'd probably be right (my IC reason was that it was the virus making him think he was a wizard that needed to spread the magic by any means necessary), but not until much later did the admins even remotely say anything about stopping.
Here’s what happened.
Round starts, surprised to see I’m viro, decide to make a silly virus to make the round fun and memorable (WHY IS EVERYONE HONKING), especially after learning it was greenshift, so I call the clown down for his laughter, and make anomalous virus food. While getting my virus ready, I accidentally forgot to set my dropper to one unit instead of 5, and as a result accidentally used all the anomalous virus food. I prayed for more, and the admins gave me some (my guy believes he’s in a simulation with “adminses” controlling everything), thus saying to me I had the go ahead for my joke. (Technically they gave me more laughter for the anomalous virus food recipe but I digress.) So I go ahead and spend a full 30 minutes making my virus.
Finally, it is finished, and I’m super excited, and nervous that I’ll be instantly killed by the Procedurawhl Generated Shitter™ Antags that haunt greenshift as I leave the viro room. I get the expected “what are you doing/why are you doing that/what are you infecting people with” bwoink, and I explain it. No telling me to stop, no warning, nothing. So I keep going. I start noticing people stop having the virus, maybe I didn’t infect them? Maybe they cured it? Even the people with masks or glasses like the RD or CMO would willingly take it then get cured, while I saw them even, which was weird. Eventually I guessed that it was adminery that was curing everyone, but becuase they had literally said nothing about not doing so, I kept infecting everyone, as well as myself.
A lot later, I get a bwoink simply saying, “Are you still infecting people?” as if I had been told to stop. This was the first time I’d been told anything about stopping, but I did stop, and didn’t infect anyone after that, not even myself. I argued for a bit, pointing out my disease was harmless, and that IC my guy thought he was a wizard who was supposed to spread it, got told “nanotrassen doesn’t hire crazy people”, etc etc, and to not do it anymore. So I stopped.
With my whole plan for the round down the drain, I sat at the bar (IC) and went to the forums to complain, when, to my surprise, I learn I’ve been banned.
I didn’t actually believe it, because, again, I was still sitting at the bar, able to move around. When I went to the bans tab, it turns out yes, I was in fact banned.
Additional Information: TL;DR
Did some stuff as viro. No warnings, no “Stop That” bwoinks, no indication that what I was doing was wrong. Just silent ACures (aheal but just cure) and literally nothing else till an “Are you still doing that” bwoink, with no indication that ANY action had been taken besides the ACures earlier. Only reason I knew I was banned was because a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT ADMIN told me in the forums. This breaks the #8. Ticket Conduct rule, specifically the “inform the player of why before closing it” part.
