Testmerge Feedback: Adjustments to storage capacity

NGL, I hate that sec wants to keep a baton in their bag instead of the belt dedicated for sec tools. I was surprised to find it was common practice to put the baton in bag instead of belt.

Find a jacket or hoodie, then acquire a flask, those hold 6 units of booze and are a small item.

I see this as a total upside.

why aren’t you using the jani-cart to begin with? either you use the Jani-cart, the Pimpin-ride or the Back-pack sprayer tank. while saving your backpack for nicknacks you steal find.

Go get a duffle to either wear or carry, carry non-esential tools in a tool-box.

Carry a toolbox or duffle bag in your hands.

I like this as an alternative.

Carry a flask or small bottle of Quad-sec in your vest/jacket rather than doughnuts in your bag

Because we spawn with one and get another from the belt.

yeah that’s always weird to me, I always walk around with 2 batongs.

Increase the availability of duffle bags significantly. It will become the norm to always carry a duffle bag.

All major department-drobe venders have their own Duffles in stock.

We will all become skateboarding or scooter riding duffle bag users in time

  1. 2 of them. Once people figure out how to deal with these changes, they will be worth more than bluespace crystals.

I’ve not tried it yet: It does seem to discourage carrying random things for RP, toys, instruments, costumes, folders, ect. and encourage users to only take what they absolutely need for their job.

Perhaps reduce the size of some things that dont effect powergaming much but are fun to have just in case?

Off the top of my head, I like to have a baret as a seccie in my box for formal thing/off duty, and I like carrying a synthesizer for music.

I feel like one potentially negative aspect is that when I have to choose between bolas and a synthesizer or donuts or a baret, im gunna be choosing the former more often due to lack of space. Basically I see my loadouts getting more survival focuesed and less fun focused due to lack of room. So I would suggest making ‘fun’ items like these take up less room.

Perhaps this is a problem with my mentality, but I still wanted to give you feedback and offer a potential solution.

As others have said, this change will make people play more like powergamers, not less. More people will be rushing roundstart items every round assistant style, less people will carry RP only/flavor items, it’s a general loss for RP

Tricks I employ in Inventory management.

  • Lighters can go into cig packs, pop a smoke since you’ve just bought them to smoke em, light it then put the lighter you have into the pack of ciggies.
  • wear a jacket or hoodie of some kind, they have two small slots of extra storage, one in the suit slot in the case of the hoodie.
  • stow stuff like oxy canisters on your belt if you have no belt.
  • if you can get boots, preferably mining or jack boots, then get em, they have two slots of tiny storage.

i feel like a feature that encourages this kind of minmaxing inventory management is poor for an rp server

You’re either not gonna have fun or you’re gonna have too much fun.

also i dislike the “just carry items in your hand” argument. Because clowns, botanists and janitors exist.

Incorrect.
Only Med, Sec and Engi have department duffelbags. The rest dont even exist and are therefore not offered. Civilian autodrobe doesnt either.

Sci and Med for example

Option to take duffelbags as starting bags. Grey for everything outside of those 3 tho.
