Yeah, I know the basics of both branches of engineering. I have done, in some amount, everything that those jobs require:
- SM set-up, basic for the most part and some oxy and plasma set-ups as more advanced, but I don’t mess too much with it because it can blow the station up. Haven’t tried the other engines because again, lord singuloth is hungry.
- Turbine set-up with production of tritium. I actually like having a separate line entirely on layer 1 or 3 that goes specifically to the turbine and nowhere else, while keeping layer 2 for other atmos techs or engineers to use as they please and whatever other projects I may have.
- And yeah, repairing stuff is not complicated, just time consuming.
As for the rest of the things you mentioned:
- I know how to deal with all antags in some capacity. I will reference my sec guide for that Sec Guide (which will receive a significant update as soon as deputies and cadets are implemented)
- I know a lot of chemistry, I played it plenty on TG since only they had plumbing implemented but since Bee has it now as well, might play more (if I ever get it). Admittedly I didn’t use chem for bombs but I know of most/all healing drugs.
- Building consoles and machines is pretty basic. I did it a lot, from building a solar farm, bs miners, to subverting the AI with upload consoles built in maint and building an entire science and medical department in the brig.
I know how botany works, I mean the fact that they mutate the plants, upgrade their hydroponics, and they are generally very robust. I saw botanists make esword-like deathnettle, bluespace nanas, the 3d orange, etc. The list is long, but I just didn’t do these things myself as they do take a significant time to learn through trial and error.
