Offender’s CKEY: Dunno (Rain); Bleueue (Anxiety), Ragantis (maybe Kelly?)

Date: 2024/18/02

Round Number: 47744

Rules Broken (if relevant): validhunting

Incident Description: Rolled antag midround and was able to kill my target with a fire extinguisher. 3 unrelated people (Rain Soho, Anxiety, Kelly Everrettson) saw me dragging a dead body with missing limbs and decided to chase me into my clown room to shove me and stop le antag, and all helped steal the body. Blueue later admitted to this.

Before this, Rain Soho saw me walking in the halls and decided to chase me down with a knife for messing with her earlier, when sec already made me pay a fine.

Escalation Policy states that

Breaking up a Fight: If you witness a conflict in progress or wish to come to the aid of a co-worker, you may follow normal escalation to do so by attempting to shove players apart. You may not take sides in a fight if you do not understand the context for it unless one of the players chooses to intentionally escalates against you.

hello! Bleue here! I go into kitchen and see the clown dragging a body away from medbay. I see many people trying to get him to stop dragging it away from medbay. I, thinking the clown is being a little silly haha man as they usually are, try to help bring the body to medbay as well. No weapons in sight, no sighted killings, just a clown dragging a body. I try grabbing, he walks out, I shove. More context! The dead body with missing limbs was an oozeling, a species notorious for losing limbs when hungry.

Edit: Reread report, the fight happened outside the kitchen. Did not chase into clown room (no access)

To add to this, hi, I’m the player who plays Rain! I do get confrontational when non-sec or antag and I will admit to that as a flaw of mine. But I never targeted the mime when he did not deserve it. He kept on throwing around my food which I had made as the chef, and I got pissed. Told him to the HOS, slammed him into tables and walls so he would stop, he never did. Second time I caught him doing this, it honestly might not have been him. It could’ve been the geneticist who I pissed off earlier who was sitting right next to us at the bar when it happened. Yes, I chased him with a knife. No, I never stabbed him. Then, I wanted to do something with Kelly, moved to the curator’s room where I then saw him kill my fellow worker. I called sec to the area, went in, tried to drag the body out, got stuck, Kelly opened it (who was acting cap at the time), and things moved outside where I kept trying to drag them away until sec got involved, I backed off, and Maggot started complaining I was “validhunting.” Just to add additional context to this.

let me fix that for you

saw me dragging a dead body with missing limbs and decided to chase me into my clown room to retrieve the body and save their fellow crew member.

Validhunting rules exist to prevent people from detaining or killing antags. They don’t mean that the crew will completely ignore your unhinged actions and do nothing about it. If you drag around a corpse with no explanation, people have the right to intervene. Think for a moment - if you were a non-antag dragging a corpse around and the crew did this exact same thing, would you be upset?

Before this, Rain Soho saw me walking in the halls and decided to chase me down with a knife for messing with her earlier, when sec already made me pay a fine.

This seemed bad until I heard Rain’s side. Again, just because you rolled antag doesn’t mean people suddenly can’t respond to you acting like a dickwad.

In conclusion, grow up.

Not trying to peanut. But legitimate question.

If Maggot is permabanned from clown.

Plays as a mime named clown.

Isn’t that like avoiding the job ban. Like when you’re job banned and ask the hop to give you the role anyways?

I wasn’t playing on this round of course but I had to read somewhere else he was a mime.

He mentions “my clown room” anxiety calls him a clown 3 times!

Was he a mime dressed as a clown?

That has indeed that caught my attention too, and part of why this isn’t resolved yet.

I was in-round.

He was dressed as a clown, though I only saw him at the beginning as I was at the clothing vendor

Okay, I’ve waited half a day to gather input on the clown ban evasion issue and think over it, apologies for the delay.

Right.

Too many logs for me to post them all, so take my word.
Mime gets antag, decides to mess with the chef and around the kicthen.
Chef gets angry and kicks the mime out non lethally. Fair 'nuff.
Clown decide to kill his target, Rain stumbles on the scene

So…honestly. I don’t think it’s inherently bad, they called for help and tried to rescue their coworker while never taking actions against you. No RP from the mime/clown to threaten Rain, no weapons pulled…

As for Anxiety, a MD getting on scene to rescue someone is okay, at no point was their character at any risks while recovering the body, so it’s doubly okay.

Tho’. They did shove the mime away from the body. With the context I provided above, I don’t have much of an issue with it.

Acting cap helping recover a body is W/E.

Honestly, I would maybe have a problem with the actions taken by players if the mime didn’t spend most of his round pissing peoples off.
But here, I can honestly understand the argument of “we thought it was just another unfunny mime/clown prank.”

About the mime gimmick of being a clown, fair enough.
However, it’s not something to do when you’re currently permabanned from clown, this constitues ban evasion. (if it’s dressed like a clown, named clown, honks when it walks and pranks, it’s a clown).
I feel pretty bad having to pull the trigger over it but perma it is.
See you in a year with a vouch.

Guess I’ll mark this as processed since actions will be taken.
