Edit because I could not be understood: On MRP, as sec, I expect people to either tell me there is weird shit going on, or give me back valuable items, because they RP as proper crewmembers, or keep them because they need them for themselves.

Understandable, it’s late and english isn’t my first language.
Taking a firearm such as a laser would fall under the ‘Armed and Dangerous’ category of space law. Sec officers should use lethal means to eliminate the threat. But once the prisoner is detained security should do its best to make sure either the prisoner is incarcerated properly or executed according to the captains wishes.
This type of process isn’t done, detained prisoners are either left for dead, and maliciously beaten in the brig. I would say that isn’t very RP as a professional of Nanotrassen.
Remember folks you have to RP to the best of your ability on MRP there is a rule 3.
As HoS I have tried to give people a lawyer and to organise a trial. Here are the problems with organizing a trial:
- Cooperation from: The pressumed traitor which is now sitting in perma and not being gibbed, a competent lawyer capable of organising everything, the captain, HoS. If you don’t get at least one of either cap or hos, the trial will have no authority.
- Gathering all previously mentioned people in one spot
- Interviewing everybody involved, which can easily take 10+ minutes
- Showing up to court, which is of course at risk of being bombed by somebody that has a hijack objective
So for the trial of 1 shitter, which by the way if they’re in perma, then that means it’s admin approved, you will basically slow down the operations of the entire sec department, take away from the time of command roles. This entire charade can easily take up to 30 minutes. Highly entertaining if they pull it off, but I never saw any lawyer actually put in the effort for that.
And as HoS I can tell you this, you’re constantly running around solving everybody’s troubles or doing something. I often need to keep track of 2-3 ongoing conversations at a time on comms. If the shit hits the fan, there is no time.
Also you disliking my creative solutions of dealing with the traitors, MRP does not mean being a nice human being or having compassion, MRP means going through the procedure and having justification behind my action. HRP means exhaustively filling in documents and filing them away, LRP means picking up the clown for a gang beatdown in the brig because “he make funny noise, hehe”.

If a traitor does not want a trial why would you go through the trouble of having it in the first place. A trial should come together if the prisoner requests it and their are those willing to take up their case.
Like I’ve said. I’ve gone through the trouble of having a trial set up for willing prisoners and lawyers, just to come back to have a Non RP’ing officer having murdered him and it being ok IC.
As I said before, most of the time there is not staff/time/anything in security department to hold a trial for every traitor, that’s it.
That’s the crux of the problem is that you can go through all the trouble to set up interesting RP interactions, and people are just tonedeaf and steam roll and purposefully grief those events because “roleplaying sucks” and then admins more or less encourage it – that’s the culture here.
And I am not saying to have a trial for every possible traitor. What I’m saying is that when the stars align and you get everyone together to make it work, all it takes is one non RPing shitter to mess it up. While being wiped away as ‘IC’.

I would say that a way to help RP on MRP is to disable HoP as antag, make him fucking to his job and open positions so station doesn’t end up having 15 tiding assistants.

I don’t understand your argument. Don’t have trials because they are hard and rare? We try to have trials because we want to have a quality RP experience. People will go out of their way to ruin those experiences, which on any other MRP server would lead to a ban, but have it being ok under ‘IC’.
There can’t be trials, because most of the time security department is understaffed, there are like 10 antags and 15 shitters on the station, and multiple calls for help.
There can’t be trials, because when people are tonedeaf and inflexible, fun RP can’t happen – because how dare you anyway?
I actually agree with this, HoP as roundstart antag can enable a lot of bad.
