Right so this has been going for a couple days now. I think the vote results make it clear that people either want this rule remove entirely for LRP, or at least changed to be more flexible than simply “never give it out unless it’s nukies”.
As I made quite clear, removing it wouldn’t change the dynamic of the round much except in a positive way (that being that command lives significantly longer, and not in constant fear for their lives against the very crew they are responsible for).
Changing the rule and make it say something like “HOP can only give AA with the captains permission” or “HOP must keep track of the people’s names he has given AA to” or even “All people given AA must also be given a tracking implant” would be something at least and keep things somewhat orderly besides the HOP just leaving his AA in the console and propping the door open.

Yes we need “”"“HoPs”""" that give out AA in first five mins then ignore their job for the remainder of the round.
Random AA in general is bad, removes any reason to play command roles and security and gives antags a free card to easily murderbone everyone whos not powergaming and actually doing their jobs.

It’s funny when people reply on my well-written and civil comment with a rude reply from a person who clearly didn’t read any of this but the title. @anon82996225 if you have ever played LRP on Beestation and tried to play any command role, you would quickly realize that people do exactly as you suggest… to get at the HOP or captain for their AA. The problem here isn’t the difficulty of getting access or AA, it’s the stupidity of withholding it from the crew at the risk of your own life, and still failing to keep it away from them.
@dallen9 that was a concern I brought up in a previous comment I made. If we were not going to completely remove the rule but change it in some way, my suggestion would be to allow the HOP to give people AA, but in such a way the HOP keeps track of who has it. The current rule actually allows for what you suggest as the only loophole. Again as previously mentioned, all a HOP has to do is put AA in the console and prop the door open, and as long as he isn’t personally giving out AA, he can’t be Bwoinked due to the wording of this rule.
@mcrideinspace we are talking about LRP. There is no security. Late at night, there is no ANYTHING. It’s lowpop. You still can’t hand out AA per the current rule even as the station catches on fire and the sm meltdowns. If handing out AA was just self antag and made you valid, this post wouldn’t exist. Because you can be ROLE BANNED OR WORSE on LRP for giving out AA -the alternative being being lynched for it by the crew- is unbased and bluepilled and why command is rarely played even on high pop.

Buddy, if its low pop - just take aa, since noone is in command. If there is someone in command - kill them for your aa. If you are afraid of getting beaned - you are not antag and dont need the fucking aa, ITS NOT LIKE HACKING EXISTS OR SOMETHING, RIGHT?
To suggest that hop would ever need to give out aa when its not nukies is just stupid for lrp. EVERYONE ignores their job, just because you give everyone aa, doesnt mean sm will get fixed. Oh and if someone WANTS to fix sm, hell hack his way in, not that big of a deal.
The only reason people are rude is because this proposal is just pointless

- there are already clauses in the rules that say taking AA during low pop is fine
- you abosulutely can hand out AA during a red alert like nukies or something and it be fine
- the ruling specificly targets HoPs who hand out AA when there is already security and a command structure in place, you dont know the amount of times ive been playing warden/HoS and some shit HoP hands out AA to everyone, leading to the armoury/sec getting raided constantly and a full perma/about 5 corpses in the armoury and a HoP I personally executed for being shit and handing out AA.
