strange seeds are pretty rare, plus they’re rng, plus they need setup even if good. The only thing that’s feasible to nerf here is to increase their cost thus lowering spam, but considering how shit rng can be i would rather not. a full rework of strange seeds would be better, maybe one where you can use biomass to research chems and traits at higher cost instead of rolling shit.

No one tell him about just making a biomass farm and producing thousands of strange seeds. They’re 5000 mass per pack without upgrading, but a full load of 20% nutriment wheat will get you upwards of 8k points. Even marginal upgrades can let you get them much cheaper. Unless RNJesus hates you, you can usually get what you want within 15 minutes or so if no jackassery prevents you from getting tooled up.
I used to main botany. It can take upwards of 30 to get what you want. If what you want is murder you can just take any toxins you find (something chem does faster) but a single reagent can take anywhere from 5 to 60 minutes. This is why rng is awful and not real balance. What if you get zombie powder in your roundstart seeds lmao.
I don’t think I’d wanna see a huge nerf (I think people are overestimating what you can do quickly) but I do wanna note kudzu can be a station killer. Though like someone above said, you can’t shouldn’t be able to make/use most of the deadly stuff on MRP without a ban anyway.
Kudzu is pretty toxic since the buff and it’s really easy to make. It can effectively ruin entire rounds and can be mass produced pretty easily, especially with the roundstart dispenser in now.
Botany can also very easily put medbay out of business mass producing pure omnizine Gaia that you just need to slap people with for healing.
So realize that the systems can also be used for good.

Consolidating pog traits is a lot more effort
the easy DNA machine is gone and you have to spread stats with RNG, cross pollination and cutting snips of plants and putting them in others.
This is no worse than general antag/grief stuff though. Players are expected not to plant Kudzu on station at all unless they’re at least antag. Super virulent strains would need hijack or similar.
My issue isn’t botany using what they make responsibly - that’s an admin thing to deal with when people break rules and just destroy the station for no reason.

If you can carry 200 uses of a ranged AoE weapon, it should not be very powerful.
Weapons that instantly kill or stun need available counterplay options if you’re trying to be ready for a threat that’s going on across the station, or at least need to be very difficult to use or obtain.

Plasmaflood is not fun bad viruses not fun maxcaps not fun chemnades not fun. A lot of means of murdering are not fun for people they are being used on.
If its just lemon nades and cherry bombs then the obvious solution is to not allow storing those in plant bags.
Nerfing botany as a whole is a shit solution. As i said before you are not supposed to use dangerous plants as nonantag. It takes time and effort to make funny plants (you need to make a high nutrition high production speed plant and upgrade biogen to even start making strange seeds)

You can plasmaflood literally roundstart with almost no effort or turn sm into tesla or singulo with very little effort. Both are extremely destructive and easier to do than kudzu. Do you want to nerf those too?
