For most people, the “lying” that Kate did was in her baseless and damaging accusations towards Kev. I don’t know who explained it, but they left out some key details.
Trying to draw parallels between this incident and people being permabanned for “similar” offenses is a clear attempt at purposefully misinterpreting the situation. The people that have been permabanned have had prior warnings (in many instances, several warnings) whereas this is a first offense. Even if he wasn’t the owner, he wouldn’t have been permabanned based on this first offense and our standard procedure. He would have gotten a softban which would have deleted his posts and a warning. Just like everyone else has had.
Right now the server is in chaos, and accusations are being flung left and right. This is a very complex situation and many people here haven’t read the actual hundreds and hundreds of thread comments that got us here. All they see is him doing something disgusting, and making an apology, and then half a dozen comments saying there were people with less offenses and greater punishments. Obviously there are lots of people exclusively taking one side or the other, but I think a lot of people are just unaware of everything going on, just like with any other complex situation.

The only thing I will even bother to address here is can we get the banning admin when Kate was banned for loli content here to confirm if the one she is claiming to be the offender is it or not? Because “supposedly” as our ever so handsome and flattering Owen here puts it just ain’t good enough for me.

Joe was just a recent example. He made a shitpost that was pretty funny and even though his appeal wasn’t that smart in the getting unbanned wise, it was clearly a joke.
Also handing over ownership of discord while keeping all perms (possible still maintaining the patreon? I don’t know the setup behind that) is not the same as a community ban. The handing over would logically happen with a ban.
You excuse Kev’s post for being a joke, but you’re sure there to hammer down on others aren’t you.

I will be rescinding control of the patreon, and I also no longer have my position as project lead. Meaning although I can give input, it doesn’t carry any real weight, unlike having direct control over policy like before.
This could’ve been a good moment to self-reflect on the current situation of bee regarding the rules. But instead it just become alot more fucking dumb with a half-assed attempt to appease people while doubling down on others.
And if appearantly the reason to not make the server 18+ to prevent this cancer currently is that there’s jannies from the past, before the new 18+ jannie ruling was made, still in the adminteam

I love how headmins will completly ignore context in some situations denying appeals and then they won’t do anything against someone who is “one of their own”.
While I do understand Kev faced a lot of hate and basically lost ownership of bee if you don’t want to be hypocritical here you should immediately ban him (at least from discord) the moment he gave up ownership.
This situation exposes how stupid the rules are.
Fuck permabans honestly. You give permas for such a stupid shit and then deny any appeals.

I am and have been against this since it happened. I am also completely outvoted on this one, and I recognize I’m probably biased since these players were my friends. You’ll notice I had no part in Velvet’s recent ban appeal.
How many times does it have to be said he wasn’t excused We literally couldn’t take action against him unless he accepted it. He accepted it and more. What he did was not worth skipping to immediate permaban because it was a joke.
Players that have been permabanned were not immediately permabanned for a joke, it was at minimum a second offense. In most cases it was many more than that. We backpedaled the policy that resulted in instant no-warning bans and I even personally DM’d everyone I could to tell them they’re good to appeal if they weren’t too soured.
This situation is exactly the reverse!
I’ve given examples of recent bans, please provide one where someone was denied an appeal without regard for context and had no prior offenses.
You want me to say Joe. He had no problems with n-word or filter bypass before yet you permad him for something that is basically a joke and isn’t (or shouldn’t be) bannable anyways.

No ban at all was made, which is the punishment to begin with. Why do you ignore this and just focus on the perma part.

kevster never shouldve given up ownership, no one really cared about it. He shouldve realised that the whole point was to point out the dumb rules where you must walk on eggshells to the point where doing anything is unenjoyable. The admins are select with what they ban you for, one day you will be banned for having the ckey cumstain and the next day you are allowed to post children that are pregnant with pig fetuses.
