That’s actually against the rules too as per the ruling.
And if you are doing it in a way that genuinely affects others, it’s also always been bannable as per rule 3 on sage (2 on golden) supposing admins ever want to actually enact that rule.
But this ruling… it doesn’t help nearly as much as it will hurt. Depending on how hard you enforce it, a lot of people are going to eat fat bans in the coming weeks just because this isn’t on the rules page and/or don’t view the forums.
simply playing the game isnt against the rules, the spirit of the ruling clearly means going captain then hiding in a locker afk untill round end to get the antag rep
if you wanna max your chance of antag play command tho; its a coded incentive to do so
It is, but you’re still expected to contribute to the round as part of NT crew when you don’t get antag. Repairing wires in maints or offering assistance to others are good ways to do that,
If you purely want to dick around with people, you should be one of the intentionally restricted gimmick roles or clown, not assistant.
Greyshit Assistants will be banned every time they’re caught on MRP.
eh, I mean I help people when im not an antag as assistant but its also mainly so i can vibe at the bar and goof off, expecting assistants to actually do something instead of vibing is a bad precedent
I can agree with that. As I said, assistants for me should assist, but are more to make the station less ‘empty’. Vibe in bar, do gimmicks, explore space, build the shuttle.
God damn it Ruko there are colors other than black and white. You can use the game as a chat client, you can ask for EVA access and go space exploring, you can just hang out with other assistants and chat or play UNO using SS13.
There are things in this game other than either doing your assigned role to the letter or being a fucking griefer.
People who are otherwise glowing members of the community but goof off for 15 minutes until they cryo when they don’t get an interesting role (like antagonist) are going to be banned for this one thing.
I guess what you want is for people to not roll for jobs at all. If they don’t get the job they want, then they shouldn’t play. Observe until the next round and try again, or stop playing.
What @Mat05usz said. If you are unwilling to play your assigned job, you can prevent the game from giving it to you.
If you’re dead or not playing sure. If your only reason for connecting is to hang around and chat you aren’t even playing the game and shouldn’t be taking up limited server slots?
There are, and truthfully nobody is going to notice the assistant that just hangs out in the bar and they’re still making a contribution to the round.
Even if they’re technically breaking the rule/guidelines I’ve been talking about, they’re not directly causing a negative impact unless the server is full.
Did you know you can select many jobs in job preferences? You can set them in any order you want based on 4 levels ‘High’ ‘Medium’ ‘Low’ and ‘Never/none’ this really should be enough to let you pick a job you want, and then you can select to return to the lobby if you did not get a job you wanted.
You do understand that we aren’t about to collectively ban anyone and everyone who touches a cryo pod right?
The spirit of the rule is to prevent people from exclusively playing antagonist.
almost every day there’s people unable to connect and play because we hit the cap. Removing the people that don’t want to be a part of the game to make space for more desirable players is natural.
Especially when we have an unlimited server with no RP rules that can be freely used to just hang out and chill.
If you look about the rules this way, any rule is vague and nebulous because none of them tell you for how long you will be punished. It is always up to an admin bruh
