I’m pretty sure everyone here has noticed that the definition of “ERP” has been widening recently, and the punishment for it has become incredibly strict. While I understand the reasoning behind this, I believe it would be in everyone’s best interest to make the server’s position in this case very clear.
ERP is a very vague term, by the circumstances it has been used under recently anyway. If Bee is truly dedicated to becoming acceptable to minors, then I think rewording “ERP” to “Erotic content” is in order, as it certainly correlates better to some of the bans handed out recently. For example, I don’t think posting WGW in OOC counts as erotic roleplay, but it also isn’t acceptable in a server that supposedly caters to minors. Rewording “ERP” to “erotic content” would solve this.
A good point I saw brought up recently by arrfur was the erotic books in the library, which under either definition should be removed.
In any case, regardless of where your opinion falls on this, I think everyone can accept the rules and punishments surrounding “ERP” need clarification.
Thanks for your time, and please keep this civil and on topic.
No erotic content is to be posted OOC or IC as the server contains minors. This rule is a zero-tolerance rule and will be met with an unappealable permanent ban from both servers. We may or may not share the logs so others can laugh at you. Go to a containment server if you want to ERP.
This is the current rule. It was updated and announced on May 18th.
IMO it should be a little more relaxed and less 0 tolerance for people just approaching ERP.
While sitting on someone’s lap while they stroke your felinid tail is crossing the line, saying “me FARTS ON YOU” or whatever is not worth a perma with no appeal.
I think admins should be more gentle with people scraping or barely crossing the line on ERP.
Zero tolerance. Honestly sexually based words shouldn’t be allowed either. There’s no gameplay reason to have to say sex or cum, they should probably just be hard blocked by the filter.
Cum, sure. I can go either way on ‘sex’ since it has uses outside of vulgarities. Creating a definitive list of these terms for the filter is something that is unlikely to happen, however. Overall though, this is something that we’d likely need to discuss a bit further internally.
