Will there be a official player vote for explorer job removal like there was for removing crewsimov?

I think it’s important enough of a thing for players themselves to vote on the removal of. I haven’t played that job a whole lot but I love it and think that it’s removal needs more player input then what I’ve currently seen. I don’t want to see explorers semi-quietly get killed in the background.

Id vote against it purely for the changes to cargo that are coming with the expo removal PR. Just seems like it would add to the tedium of cargo and force people to leave station more without doing much else for the department.

In an ideal world, it would be like when expo was first being testmerged and the objective console was in QMs office and QM started with expo comms. I honestly think having another job like QM watching over exploration could push it towards the “Do your job as well as amass loot please” direction in the same way QMs wrangle mining. Also giving QM more responsibilities was nice to push the job away from the “Cargo Tech with cape and inflated ego” stereotype

could just make exploration public. if we remove all the broken stuff like guns, chem dispensers and katana from crates (to name a few), it could be a fun way for greytide and other volunteers to gather materials and whatnot.

Bacon made a Thread for feedback and suggestions for Exploration and Shuttles, the job will not be removed for the time being.

The exploration removal PR is cancelled and I will work on improving flight for the time being, however the exploration design is open for anyone to edit or make changes to if somebody else can propose a good way to make changes to it.

Explorers need a warning in big letters that the gear they find is not legal for them to keep. They get way too many lethal guns and other weapons as loot.

Why is only security held to account for carrying lethal weapons on green alert? It shouldn’t be tolerated for non-security to carry around guns.

People would actually have to read the bartender drinks first before that even starts. The amount of times that blood demons could’ve been handled a bit better if the right drinks were made or if bartenders passed out drinks according to different situations would help prevent as many dead/removed from round bodies

Who the FUCK brings gibtonite, an item you can only carry by either getting a bag of holding or dedicating your entire hands slot onto the station just to make an explosion chemistry can recreate in ten inputs or less.

Because only security is allowed to actually use them. If a miner or explorer runs around turning the valid sideways they’re gonna get banned.

It’s also nowhere near a wmd, though you can make a very fancy grenade that comes closer if you actually work with chemistry and give them the gibtonite.

I’m pretty sure you are aware but I want to be sure: You know Gibdonite’s power is based on how well you timed stopping it from detonating right? Max power gibdonite is a force to be reckoned with. I’m not sure how strong WMDs are, so I can’t say whether they compare or not, but they’re still hella strong.
