sir this is the baystation R-UST

Iā€™m not too active anymore, but one thing Iā€™ve always wanted was a complete overhaul of the heirloom quirk. No longer do you get random vaguely job-related items. Instead, you get to choose your heirloom directly, and the options you have are specifically oriented towards being able to build a story around them. A sample of the sort of heirloom items Iā€™m talking about:

  • A tarnished Cadetā€™s Insignia from a military academy
  • A faded family Bible/Quran/etc
  • A locket with a picture inside
  • a chunk of metal from a centuries-old colony ship

that sort of thing. Non-functional items that you can nonetheless build a sense of history around.

I havenā€™t had a chance to ever work on R-UST, I just glanced on article about it on wiki and it is quite interesting but I would say itā€™s more of a type of deal similar to SM.
My point was not to have a new type of engine but to find use for currently existing mechanics, only new thing that would have to be coded and implemented would be a reaction between energized particles that are already a byproduct of fusion and material (eventually if it would be easier a target device in which you could put materials) and new materials. Purpose of this would not be to create power but to convert one type of material into each other. Even if uses for those would be limited at the beginning once they are implemented more and more things could start using them.

When it comes to design you could just have a simple chamber with just one window in front of which you would place your target for doping

fusion2

Or something like this so thereā€™s fusion happening almost all around the target increasing the chance of it being hit

fusion1

But those are just a lame propositions out of top of my head that I sketched fast, pretty sure people could come up with different type of set ups, maybe including systems for placing materials in target zone with disposals and conveyor belts etc
It would also encourage people to learn more theory to gain more control over fusion so they could keep particles at certain energy levels (as said, that is already a thing in game, it just doesnā€™t have any use)

Or a PDA cartridge that gives read-only access to criminal records & DNA
