There is no real benefit to beecoins, you cant pin them for their actions. Most people just like winning including myself, that’s nothing bad by itself and you cant force antags to RP because they have to rely on crew to go along with them and not perma prison them 5 minutes later.
Even if you get greentexts you cant use those beecoins for any in game power or something, and it would take you hundreds of greentexts tk even get a single antag token from it.
Bee does have validhunt issues. Sometimes it feels like there are two mindsets on sage. Folks who want to add to the round for everyone’s benefit, and folks who really just want to play a single player game.
Security is not immune to that either. They rarely want to roleplay something out. Lawyers don’t have authority, so trials rarely happen.
As a result of our validhunting issues, the most fun rounds for the whole crew tend to be with antag teams or factions with replenishable numbers.
It’s because the game was simultaniously designed for antags to do their things and for you to do your job. Their things often include killing you (and even if they don’t, they might go for it because muh keel funn). It propagates a cycle of murder and hatred. I talked about it before too.
Alright at first i was going to start this with: ‘I’ve seen a player that was BLOATING how everytime he fights sec he decides to grab their bodies and CREMATE THEM since ‘’‘security round removes me? I DO THE SAME HEHE’’ ‘’
I’ve seen at least three rounds where you, Solomon, do that kind of stuff, i will give you that at least the meat-spike trophy showcase was an improvement compared to ‘‘drag all dead officers and command to crematorium’’
Those kind of stuff IMO are not healthy for the server and it’s an horrendous antag behaviour (even if it falls under the rules) I think we should at least get back the old LRP rule of ‘‘Do your objective before going murderbone’’ or have something similar to that because so many people tip-toe the line constanly and, since i saw some people complaining of some ‘’’‘boring objectives that doesn’t let you click people into horizontal’’’ it could be nice to encourage the admins to accept a little more custom objectives done by them with specific goals in mind to make the round more interesting.
I do agree that we also have a validhunter problem, specially on late part of the shift where most departments already have their own stuff
But yeah some players lack some sense of empathy towards the others and only care about themselves getting the win/killing the valid instead of trying to make an interesting shift, i agree with @Spacegoat comment, most of the intense/interest round that i enjoy are usually on stuff like Incursion where both sec and antag fight and most departments have potential of something to do
I actually do wish we had more unique objectives. Things where you don’t need to kill anyone. Stealing different things, possi ky just preventing people from being in the shuttle.
Maybe “ensure the geneticist is in custody on the escape shuttle by the end of the shift”
-Heck play with old ss13 culture and lore. Maybe stuff like:
-steal Ian.
-Ensure the SM has delaminated by the end of the shift.
-make sure there’s more than 3 ai by shift end
-in order to inflate the price of cameras, destroy 80% of cameras on shift
-cause an assistant uprising.
-Cargonians Rise up!!
Of course some of these will only work when there are multiple admins on, but, I just want to put out there that there are options.
Learn to code, PR stuff.
Nothing really has to be removed. But what we can at least do it add in more things.
Both for antags and non antags to do/work on
Maybe add more of the sub objectives for non-angags.
Solars and antimatter. After realizing how easy both are I unironically started avoiding the SM completely for how annoying it is. Making AM takes like a minute and you don’t worry about it ever again, I do it often on Acacia.

Either give antags more freedom when it comes to killing people (validhunters will often cry about murderbone if they fail to secure the valid), or restrict validhunting through in-game means (skill system?).
if the game in its current state relies in some part on valid hunting(xenos, swarmers, nightmares, blob, nukies, wizard, blood culitst, clock cultist, ascended heratic, sometimes lings, pirates, space ninjas, revs and possibly more). then its REALLY hard to make rules that both respect roleplay and make the game not a chore to play. aswel as to enforce them. We will fill gaps in where the game falls short but if the gap we have to build is as large as the golden gate bridge its not fun for anyone involved
valid hunting itself is a cancer that targets any fun gimmick traitors could have. its essentialy players saying “well they cant have fun, take it away” but its also a requirement for many antags to be even slightly balanced. if lings didnt get immidiatly curb stomped they would curb stomp the entire station instead. same goes for blood cult or revs. And there is no amount of rule writting and admin enforcement that will make this better as things are right now. We can try our best but we are limited
Blob is indeed something that when left alone for a bit too long, it will end the round. I saw many rounds (even i was a blob once) where there was a different threat and blob basicly won because there was not a lot of people fighting it.
I can understand this. There are a lot of rules to enforce and when there are a lot of people present in the server it is easy to overlook. I think a lot of people are aware of that issue.
I also agree with this statement here, but with one small caveat. Maybe this goes beyond just the current state of players in the server. It just could mean that certain antag roles be reworked to be more conducive to RP.
I like this a lot. I think as far as RP goes this would be a great way to keep people engaged in playing their antag roles while being able to RP. It gives both sides more chance to RP as well as for antags to maybe get another chance at their objectives if they fail. There is nothing that says everything has to be one sided. Not everything is a black or white issue. If it was just as simple as pass or fail, then there wouldn’t really be any room for variation to begin with. People will just continue through the same motions they go through now. I am also not advocating for anything like that no matter what everyone is a winner. Sometimes you lose in life and that experience should be shared in relations to role playing.
I might not be seeing all the angles. I am still very new to all of this and have been trying my best to learn more about the mechanics of the game in general. I do enjoy the RP when I do get it, there are some very unique and creative people who play here that are a joy to RP with. There are also good admins here as well that like to make sure people have fun. My perspective comes from being new to both the game and RP, which is why I chose Bee in the first place.
