Incident Description: I was a nightmare (Originally Kanet’pruunance, got renamed to U’ruan due to a brain transplant). For the most part, I played nightmare not peacefully, but I would only ever attack people once to shut off their lights if they refused to turn them off, and only killed the chaplain (who was spreading holy water, or at least attempting to) and the botanist (who was throwing light-producing beets everywhere). I avoided breaking APCs, except in areas where the aformentioned people I was antagonizing worked.
Then I showed up in medical looking to steal a toxin kit to deal with some beestings. Brian Warren, the Geneticist, had a spear for some reason and proceeded to wordlessly hunt me down in full gamer mode (moving erratically, the whole meal deal) and immediately knew to drag me into the light. Since when did a Geneticist know what a nightmare was, how to deal with them, and came with the training to take one out? He also apparently killed me because “it’s just going to break all the lights and maybe the APCs”, which, again, how would he have known this as a Geneticist? I didn’t even really have the chance to do my whole preachy routine at him before he went into “valid spotted” mode.
Then my corpse was immediately dragged into medbay for organ harvesting (I immediately went DNR because it’s so fucking boring to shove the nightmare into an MMI right away), and Victoria Seigrist took the funny gamer arm (She also had a bunch of sec gear 4noraisin, insulated, and telekinesis). I know hearsay isn’t useful, but Victoria has kind of a reputation for powergaming and hoarding gear as a nonantag. Victoria also used this to break all the lights in shuttle, seemingly to revive a nightmarified monkey (which had already put 2 people into crit).
Edit: I should add that she didn’t have to break lights to survive, since the light eater doesn’t make you take damage from light on its own, and apparently either did this just because she could, or to revive the nightmonke, which either way is pretty NRP behavior (and arguably self-antagging).
Additional Information: Although it was impossible for me to tell, as far as I can tell at no point did Medbay contact Security to help them with the nightmare problem, and instead immediately resorted to dealing with the problem themselves, because it’s definitely fun for the antagonist who’s trying to make things interesting by doing preachy darkness stuff to just get horizontaled by the gamer.
