Meowdy Y’all im eventully going to make some extra traitor objectives i want to add more variety to the gameplay and introduce some fresh, fun challenges for our Syndicate agents.
I’m looking for your best suggestions for new objectives. I’ve categorized them by “threat level” so I can get a good mix of quick disruptions and high-stakes missions.
Minor Objectives (Disruptive & Stealthy) (These usually reward the least, but are given roundstart)
The Goal: Quick, low-risk tasks that create paranoia or small inconveniences.
Examples: Vandalizing specific station assets, stealing non-critical items, or spreading misinformation, kiling certain pets (ian)
Medium Objectives (Systemic Impact) These give medium TC, and are usually locked until the mid-game of the station
The Goal: Requires planning and creates a localized problem that the crew has to work together to fix.
Examples: Sabotaging a department’s power/systems, stealing sensitive research, or creating specific environmental hazards.
Get prints of the Important person. Get a single use scanning device that should be used on any item of tile (like doors) touched by the captain or other heads of staff, to steal their biometrics for the syndicate. (I feel like there should be a way to get it through shaking a hand with them, since asking to take off a glove for handshake is the only reasonable way I can think of for them to do so.)
Same goes for example getting a probe of captain’s blood. Insiting a fight or simply stabbing him one time and bearing the consequences to get a sample of blood as in liquid or just taking the probe from the blood on the floor.
An objective that gives you a single use emag that to be used on unpowered cyborg, that gives them a random mischievous law or just random ion law. Doesn’t fix itself if synchronized with ai.
Obtain a cargo bounty before cargo does.
It would be fun to see a traitor scramble to find 10 pieces of trash, or bribe the chemist to make them a bottle of cyanide before cargo does.
sneaking some sort of contraband onboard the cargo shuttle to get them in trouble with CC would be pretty funny
you could also try get something to sabotage regular ships so like escape pods dont fly away properly or so mining/other infinite fuel ships crash or somethin
Spread misinformation by planting fake evidence of other antagonist presence to create imaginary workload for security and waste their time. Draw indistinguishable cult or heretic rune, put cogs into apc, put fake spider webs and eggs ets. I remember how many times i got screwed over by misinformation as an officer and think that its a valid tactic to create tension.
Hack Communications console (Acts something like Hijack with several iterations and announcements). Results in spawning 1 more sleeping agent / maybe gives tc.
Hack power/monitoring console (acts like hijack with several iterations and announcements). Results in a temporary blackout outage (event that already exists). Maybe grants a remote that is a one time use, that causes this outage.
I think the TG progtot system has this, the thing is that the console can be printed/easily acquired from tech storage? So I would try to make it only on the main ones, otherwise you would see bleh cheese strats like they used to do with the AI law machine in the middle of space
Personally I would change it a bit and instead make it toggle a storm of syndietroopers just so it’s something different that the crew face rather than traitor+1
Anyways my suggestion would be to take a look at the objectives TG Progtot introduced, I don’t agree with a lot of this system but they have interesting objectives like:
Placing a ‘‘bug/listening device’’ on the office of X head of staff or X location, but instead of being invisible(i think it is on progtot and it just rewards reputation) it’s an item that can be concealed but not too impossible
Steal Warden shotgun/Walter (I will personally sprite a syndie cage… our poor waltuh..)
They replaced the stupidingly boring ‘‘steal research data with a disk’’ objective with one that requires you to hack into the main server and do a few things before it triggers an alarm, I’m not sure if this one is on progtot per se but It is on their ninja rework (If you go to TG github you can find the PR that changed it) they also have a few different objective than our current version and they’re certainly more interesting than the ones we currently have, take a look too!
Overall these are like medium tier objectives that cause enough chaos or give away there is a threat looming and would incentivise investigation and more interactions with different departments rather than murder x3000 + blackbox
