50365
Ban Reason:
As an engineer on round 50365, was converted into a cultist during a very hectic round. After the conversion, proceeded to tell his converters to go fuck themselves, and ran to engineering. When asked why he ran away, he said "nothings ‘up’ between us. im gonna naturally hold a grudge when people stab the shit out of me and then expect me to help ". Then shortly after, they DC’d mid-ticket. You JUST came off a permaban not 3 days ago. I would have just asked you to reread the rules and given a note, but DC’ing midticket escalates this. I cannot discuss policy with you if you disconnect to make sure you understand, so you need to appeal this on forums and we can have a discussion there.
Appeal Reason:
I want the chance to at least defend my action, even if the in game aspect may be an immediate note. with the admin ticket from my point of view the last admin ticket was send a minute before my character died from bleeding out. i then waited a few minutes in the Dchat and didnt see any more Messages come through. i thought that the situation was over and went off to play a different game to wait for the next round, i wasnt attempting to DC mid ticket i just had thought since there were no more messages that it was over
Additional Information:
I’d like to note that it wasnt the cult converting me that annoyed me. it was that it was while i was attempting to help with the giant spider situation. on top of that i did not ruin the cult or attempt to reveal them in retaliation and i didnt run directly to engineering. i went to medical but there was no one nearby and no bandages so i went back to engineering to see if there was an emergency medkit there instead which is where i died from bloodloss
Tickets are over when they are marked resolved and the interface closes.
If you leave prior to that, it is considered leaving mid-ticket. I needed to make sure you understood what the issue was and make sure it doesn’t happen again, and if you leave, that is impossible.
Lets talk about this.
When you are converted to a cultist, your allegiances change. Your job and any prior motivations you had are now second to furthering the cult’s objectives.
I feel like you are getting way too wrapped up in the spider incident and from this appeal you still do not understand what went wrong.
To put it simply, for the vast majority of conversions the cult is going to make, it is done under duress of the converted. This is how the cultists have to play if they want to convert anyone. This is likely how the people who eventually converted you were inducted into the cult.
What was the job simulator has now become a team effort as you suddenly are thrust against the powers-that-be in service of your Goddess, to overthrow NT and bring her to your plane of existence.
While I can understand a character ICly having misgivings about suddenly being inducted into the cult, and maybe that would temper their interactions… that is not what I saw.
You left the cult blade, told the other cultists to go fuck themselves, and left.
This is abandoning your team.
This is not fair to all the other players who are abiding by the rules and joining in the team effort to help.
This is the issue here. An minor incident IC which really bled through to seem like you were OOCly not wanting to participate.
Ironically, had you not ran away, your fellow cultists had healing items which very well could have healed you quickly. A 2.3 /s bleedrate is only moderate.
I didn’t notice that I left a cult blade behind. I just got up, said what I said and walked down to medbay while holding my wound. The 2.3 was while holding my wound so no matter what I did I was blooding profusely.
On the way of how cults are supposed to work I claim full responsibility in that. I haven’t played a normal SS13 server since like 2019. Instead playing fallout servers and the odd CM so it has been a while since I got a game that had actual antags. So I get where I went wrong.
On the ticket part that’s just my bad. I thought because I had gone several minutes without another admin message that it was done and dusted
As for the cultists healing me, the thought never occurred to me. I just toddled off to medbay and then engineering when I didn’t find what I needed
Aight.
FYI, these antag roles have big ol popups that appear on-screen that should give you a whole overview of the job.
Its a pain in the butt to code them, but they are there; so make use of them, yea?
Should give you a good idea what to do, and with team antags you can always just tell your buddy you are new in LOOC or somethin.
Anyways.
We’re all here to have fun, and we’d like most players to want that for others as well. If someone is being an ass, or unfair or you find yourself in a situation where you don’t know what to do, please ahelp and talk to us.
Even mentors, though unable to mediate rules or conflict, are some of our trusted players and can still give superb roleplay advice.
I think you found yourself in a bad spot and lashed out a little. It happens to the best of us.
However, stuff is gonna get outside of your comfort zone. You said you haven’t played a standard rp server like Bee in a while now. That’s just how it’s gonna be like while you are readjusting.
Take things with an open mind and I think you’ll be fine. Be mindful that others want fun just as much as you.
P.S.
A different Australian promised a shoey on this appeal.
