roleplay options are extremely limited, often only allowing a few âstockâ role-playing ideas the admins allow, the only 3 ways to increase your 4oleplaying capabilities beyond the stock settings is to a. be an administrator and do a rule 0, b. be even more creative and come up with more on tge limited amount of role-playing there is, or c. do an antagonist gimmick, however all these methods are flawed and all are unfavorable
a. not everyone can be an admin
b. almost nobody has this, but if you got some good gimmicks, you might have a chance
.c with the state of shitcuriry on sage, nobody does this as sage shitcurity are blood thirsty validhunters

If you cannot âroleplayâ without greytiding or otherwise griefing other people, then you should play on LRP.

Admins are subject to our RP standards as well, and there have been conflicts about this before. If you see an admin breaking this, report them for it.
B is pretty much what we expect players to do, yes. Come up with gimmicks or character traits that fit within the scope of being a professional that wants to keep their job. That doesnât mean being flawless but it does mean not transparently using your flaws for ulterior reasons.
Being someone with a substance abuse problem is good, try to butter up the chemist and see if you can convince them to discreetly help you feed your addiction, or learn ghetto chemistry and make street drugs.
Donât be someone with a substance abuse problem that is so unstable from the start that you just get banned for self-antag because instead of using it to make RP interactions you use it as an excuse to act like a madman.

We are aware of this as an issue and also agree on what the issue is. We donât agree on exactly how to resolve it, but we are working on it. The freedom of sec to essentially act as LRP valid-hunters is definitely one of the most stifling things on Sage right now, perhaps even the most stifling.

That being said.I happend to be on during that round of pubby and that was from what I have seen mainly done to be shitters.
If someone turns into a monkey and then proceeds to fulfill his duties as per his job - itâs fine.
Used for shittery, it makes it a greater offense.
Monkeys are cool and peer pressure is a very powerful force. If turning yourself into a monkey and back was as easy as it is in SS13 it wouldâve been a very common occurence.

I view it the same way I view floorpill transformations (ex. floorpill transforming you into a xenomorph). As long as you can and do continue your duties, donât self-antag, and accept the IC consequences itâs fine.
This would be okay for janitors (and somewhat humorous), assistants, and gimmick roles.
What isnât fine is self-appointing yourself a grief role by altering yourself. Turning into a monkey doesnât give you red text objectives to sow mayhem. Youâre not a living tumor or swarmer.
It also wouldnât be okay for roboticists, miners, geneticists, or doctors because monkey hands prevent you from using computer consoles, protolathes, etc. needed to do their duties.
