It’s unbalanced for the crew to be able to beat Security with makeshift weapons (Spears, Bolas, Pneumatic Cannons filled with glass shards, etc) with ease before they know what’s going on. Why would they die to a single item that can be mass-produced easily? Combat in this server is super busted and really needs a fix ASAP.
Pneuma cannons are a whole separate issue. No amount of armor will fix that.
However, yeah maybe toning down the force of the makeshift spears (or giving a stab armor like quality to sec armor)

Also not much can be done for bolas, aside from the discussions to tone them down across the board.
Makeshift weapons might be due for a pass yea.
The pneumatic cannon is infact busted, the nerf pr zesko made didn’t work and noone has pointed it out since

Stab-proof vests exist today, they are one of the cheapest forms of body armor and you can find them on mall security and renta-cops around the world, I don’t know how effective they would be versus a spear, but given the spears on station are typically headed with glass, that would probably not help the penetration/durability of them.

some are barely effective against punching daggers… bullet proof may be more resistant to such tho. is also in a time where they have energy weapons and warp tech so probably past the point where they would be very effective against such…
Conversely, given bullet proof vests in game are almost the ultimate “F U” to ballistic weapons, it would only make sense that the stab-proof vests in the future are probably a notable bit better.
unless of course NT is being cheap, which wouldn’t be a surprise.
What if we just don’t buff security for no reason.

Why are you against changes that will make PvP better?
aim for their arms, 0 armour unless they are wearing HOS gear or Riot
Combat is busted you say… yet it has been perfectly fine for a long time.
