Incident Description: This is a very low pop round. We had one person setting power, no one in sci, and I was taking care of mining as boris. At some point, I dismantled the table in front of sci for easier entry and researched like two nodes. Though my exact memory is unclear, I believe this was basic mining and inducer research, for my job and for the failing power.

I have to emphasize that I had science access from the skeleton shift, there were no scientists, there was no attempt to actually stay there and work in science, and no break in was made - one table was removed. The reasons for why I have to clarify this will be apparent below.

The player I am reporting joins minutes later. By this time I am already setting up mining equipment, teleporters, etc. He immediately asks who broke into (or “broke into”) science on radio.

I casually tell him that I removed the table and why, and this is where the strangeness begins, because the scientist goes into a rant, antagonizes me, and complains about people doing his job and his presence being pointless. The entire discussion, he is trying to frame my actions as vile, mis-represent what I actually did, and act as a victim. I will once again repeat that his job was not taken or replaced, and there was no break in, and that he was not even on the station when this happened. Despite this, the scientist actively continues to be extremely annoying on radio.

I interpret this as an attempt to make some IC conflict, and am perfectly happy to be enemies with him, and respond appropriately, but all of my aggression is purely in-character.

I am proven wrong, when the scientist reveals he very much means this stuff on a meta level by actually just cryoing during the discussion. In fact, the scientist makes it very clear that his shift has been ruined by me, and cryoes in a very dramatic fashion.

For context, the scientist has never even seen me this round, his department is untouched, and without that harmless table removal, he would not have even noticed I exist.

This also makes his prior words seem less like a parody of the typical angry breakin man, and more like a real attempt at social manipulation, or whatever.

Now, if any of his claims were actually true, I would understand, but there is close to no real reason for this kind of reaction. More accurately, his interpretation of events is complete hyperbole.

Thus, my conclusion is that this was an attempt to grief and probably stir hatred on a meta level. The scientist constantly presented the situation as some cruel and unjust replacement of him, even though he did not exist at the time and even though no real science or break-in was ever done.

I can only think of three explanations:
• The scientist was in an extremely bad situation IRL and it leaked through.
• The scientist was purposefully making an attempt to grief and stir drama on a meta level.
• The scientist was antag rolling and this was his excuse to leave immediately instead of playing.

Out of these, while the first option is not impossible, I am inclined to believe otherwise.

Edit: With the seeming reveal that the scientist is an admin, it would mean that they would have access to my note history. Unless the first explanation applies, this would likely make this a targeted attack. My note history reveals a highly specific distaste for this exact sort of meta drama. A player with access to this history conveniently choosing to construct a (mostly fake) scenario and act in this extremely specific way is much less likely to be a coincidence.

Additional Information: I will be very clear that i constantly called this person shit after he left along with ranting about all the science i was doing in the mines. This is actually how I got my own ban from the round. However, as I said, this only happened after the person left, and is thus not related to the report. In other words, my bad reaction does not excuse his actions.

No. I had no intent to make any reports at that time and thus wasn’t gathering evidence.

The logs should contain all of the messages, as usual, so perhaps the staff can indulge you.

My Experience : I join round 10min in, comment about the feng shui being off considering station’s lack of power, then make my way to science, noticing this table:

gone, only a frame remains. → I ask who broke into my department, mention my table is gone and Boris responds “me”, i’ve entered the logs for our interaction at this point

I then enter cryo, just to see in ghostchat you spamming “eat shit” to yourself on lavaland, I closed the game at this point but for reference, logs say you said “eat shit” 5 times to yourself so thats fun.

Basically all i have to say;

No, i did not look at your note history, or who you were before deciding how this interaction went down. I truly dont care, and im just hurt by the accusation that this interaction was a meta-grudge against you.

You were toxic here, in response to me having a bit of sass over you doing my job, and telling me access = permission you threatended to kill me, rip off my ass and shit down it, telling me to stfu nerd. How am i, or any other player expected to join, and enjoy a low-pop round which already requires more effort with that being literally among the first interactions.

I dont have anything else to add, I have frustrations regarding skeleton access, frustrations which may have bleed in here, causing me to near-instantly cuss in the “dont fuck up my job” comment, but i ahelped you and got off after seeing you just spam “eat shit” after i turned into a ghost, you knew i’d see that and thats how i interpreted it. But either way, thats where my part in this ends, i got on, got threatened by a non-antagonist that id be killed among other threats for wanting my department not being destroyed and didn’t want to play that round. I have no intentions on responding any further to this thread unless prompted to do so by the Headmins as i have nothing else to add.

You’re calling what is purely in-character anger toxic. Keep in mind that I am not Boris, which is something that many people seem to not understand. Up until a certain point, I considered the conversation an in-character discussion and nothing else. That point was when you cryoed.

Pretty much everything I said up until the point of you leaving was done from a roleplaying perspective as an opportunity to add some IC conflict to an otherwise dead round. Also, I said as much before, but your department was not broken into, and your job was never taken from you in any way.

As it stands, you said a bunch of nonsense that is conveniently not in these chat logs, made yourself seem as much of a victim as possible, and left.

But okay. Let’s ignore my side of this. You already used selective evidence that I do not have access to anyway.

At least one other player from this round also commented on how bad your behavior here was. This should also be in the logs. To repeat, another person with no stakes here whatsoever also considers what you have done as very wrong.

Overall, I want you to at least try and understand why this is so despicable from your side. You interpret roleplay as toxicity because it’s not what you wanted, send messages in the radio that would paint an entirely wrong picture in the logs if not opposed, and then bring things to a meta level by effectively protesting. Combined with the simply false accusations, I was more utterly confused at why someone would react this way than anything. It was only later that the idea of making a problem out of it on purpose came to mind, which is the only explanation that makes sense.

At this point, I will openly admit that I cannot even take your post as-is. I cannot tell what is supposed to be honesty, and what is a carefully planned reaction. After experiencing this round, I cannot take anything about it for granted anymore.

And all of this, over one table.

Please understand. The precedent you are setting here is that no one can react negatively to you because it will become a meta issue. At this point I would just avoid roleplay with you entirely because integrity is utterly lost. If I can cause guilt tripping and dramatic cryoing just by being angry IC, then I would rather just remain silent.

And no. I am not talking about me calling you shit after you left. This has nothing to do with the report. The fact that I have to specifically point this out before it gets abused, and the fact that you already brought it up even though it has nothing to do with the report is certainly adding an extra layer of scrutiny here.
