Really shitty math (Ft. Mentoid)

Ok so.

there are five-hundred and sixty (560) units of blood inside the average ss13 spaceman’s body.
there are approximately 5.6 litres of blood inside the average IRL human’s body.

Thus it follows that one unit of liquid in SS13 is worth ten mililitres of fluid in real life.

according to this totally accurate source (a fucking google search lol): One mililitre of iron is 7.87 grams

thus, one unit of iron is worth ten times that, 78.7 grams.

  • 1 Unit of iron = 78.7 grams

  • 20 units of iron (one sheet) = 1574 grams of iron (1.574 kilogrammes)

  • 10 units of iron (one-half sheet (one iron rod)) = 787 grammes

  • 5 units of iron (one-quarter sheet (one iron plating)) = 393.5 grammes

  • 80 units of iron (one wall) = 6296 grams of iron (6.296 kilogrammes)

Boxstation has 2427 walls
Each wall is accompanied by one plating and one iron rod lattice.
Each wall is wholly worth 95 units of iron
Each wall weighs 7476.5 grams
boxstation has 18145465.5 grams (18145.4655 kilograms) of iron in walls alone.

Boxstation has 3268 individual plating tiles.
Each plating tile is accompanied by one iron rod.
Each plating tile is wholly worth 15 units of iron.
Each plating tile weighs 1180.5 grams
boxstation has 3857874 grams (3857.874 kilograms) of iron in plating tiles alone.

Boxstation has 1433 lattices.
Each lattice is worth 10 units of iron.
each lattice weighs 787 grams.
boxstation has 1127771 grams (1127.771 kilograms) of iron in lattices alone.

boxstation has 332 catwalks.
Each catwalk is worth 20 units of iron.
Each catwalk weighs 1574 grams.
boxstation has 522568 grams (522.568 kilograms) of iron in catwalks alone.

boxstation has 3775 plated plating tiles. (platings with a floor tile on them)
Each plated plating tile is accompanied by one plating and one iron rod.
each plating tile is wholly worth 20 units of iron.
each plating tile wholly weighs 1574 grams.
boxstation has 5941850 grams (5941.85 kilograms) of iron in plated plating tiles alone.

boxstation has 1392 reinforced walls. (Due to a lack of real-world counterpart, we will be discarding the plasma count and weighing reinforced walls as normal walls)
each reinforced wall is accompanied by one plating and one iron rod.
each reinforced wall is wholly worth 95 units of iron.
each reinforced wall weighs 7476.5 grams
boxstation has 10407288 grams (10407.288 kilograms of iron in reinforced walls alone.

In total, the raw weight of the boxstation hull (Full walls, bare plating, lattices, catwalks, plated floors, and reinforced walls) Comes out to 40002.8165 Kilograms or 40.0028165 Metric tons.

please note that this math is probably wrong and does not account for things such as computers, machines, girders, or windows.

For a second i thought you were going to conduct a morbid experiment about how many spessmen lives you have to take to collect enough iron from their blood to cover the construction.

Give me time.

Edit: Probably somewhere around 10,000,704.125 adult male spessmen

math bad, box bad

2020

Stfu boxstation is baestation

Time to take my 8.7Lb iron pills (50u) for my blood deficiency

haha nerd doing math

Is this why the walls are so awfully weak to the point that airlocks are better?
