Offender’s CKEY: Ro5490 (can’t be sure since stealthmins but they were the only staff on the staffwho verb at the time)
Date (MM-DD-YYYY): 07-07-2022
Round Number: 39131
Part of Admin/Mentor Conduct Broken: Ticket Conduct
Rules Broken: 1 You Must Roleplay (probably 1.8) or 14 Metagaming and Meta-communications
Incident Description:
Round was going on as normal. Xenos get found out. Immediately it’s just an influx of “QUEEN” “XENOS” or both on comms from half the crew. I ahelp it on the grounds of it being LRP (forgot to mention metagaming, that’s my bad) and got shot down as an IC issue with no clarification (I also don’t remember getting the notification that the ticket was getting looked at). Additional Information:
I’m making this report with zero malice, and mostly because of this forum thread. Mostly the conversation that went:
When an headadmin recommends that people ahelp for this behaviour and a former headadmin tells someone with the same situation as me to make an admin report, I get left with no choice.
For one, stop quoting this as if it’s a ruling. I have merely said a rule exists.
Additionally, you all seem to forget that… Context is a thing, right? Something may be utterly unacceptable in one context but be perfectly reasonable in another.
In which case it’s a fair play for the person discovering them to yell that entities which are very clearly of alien nature are on the station. It should probably be done in a more roleplay friendly way than “;XENOS” or “;QUEEN [LOCATION]”, however.
If they were found out, that’s on them.
About the LRP, while I completely agree it’s cringe as fuck to yell “;XENOS” over common radio as soon as they are discovered, it is sort of necessary due to the nature of the event, as if the crew doesn’t act, they will all die.
I’ll bring this situation up for further discussion internally, however, I see no malice nor breaches of admin conduct by Ro. For now, this is denied.
