Note Date (YYYY/MM/DD/):

2026/04/09

Round ID (if available):

56019

Note Reason:

This is a ban for seemingly abusing ghost roles before adequate explanation, permanent purely due to disconnection in ticket as part of our ticket handling policy. Appeal on the forums to carry on the conversation when you’re able.

Appeal Reason:

Was playing as a free golem, but didn’t have much time left. Got bwoinked asking why I took the cap’s spare ID (which I did not) and the hand tele. The tele was for an easier time to go back and forth the station, on which I was the only person on.

Additional Information:

I had to disconnect because I had to go somewhere. I don’t believe I did anything wrong, so I’d like to continue the conversation that we couldn’t finish.

I may have accidentally filled out the note form instead, but all the info’s there.

You were not the only person on at the time and and there had been four crew throughout the round. I don’t doubt that you were entirely alone at some point, but you weren’t the only player for the majority of your playtime in that round.

As a general rule of thumb, lavaland ghostroles shouldn’t be making it a priority or goal to gain access to or take items directly to the station unless interaction is prompted by the station or they are simply seeking person-to-person interaction with the crew (which may lead to exchange later). Station resources are for the station crew to utilize, not for lavaland to steal from the station, especially an item as important as the hand teleporter.

I didn’t get to resolve the spare ID situation before you had to go, I had simply seen you were the last person to touch the safe codes and also found logs of you smashing your way into the HoP office. Given that you really aren’t meant to be utilizing or taking resources from the station, you have little reason to be forcefully seeking extra access around the station as well.

I’ll concede these were still a relatively victimless issues overall, but I needed to address it regardless.

I think I remember one other person there at the time who then cryo’d. I suppose it could be important to the crew, but I never saw anyone use it, at least on low pop. If there’s anyone around, I’ll make sure to ask them next time. I really was seeking person-to-person interaction in the end, but then the last guy cryo’d and there was no one. Sorry about the lack of clear reasoning or lack of permission for taking it, I never intend to just ruin someone’s round by taking stuff.

As for why I wanted more access, I wanted to potentially upgrade all of the machines since I had a BRPED with a ton of bluespace components in, but in the end didn’t do it. The spare ID wasn’t in the console or in the safe anyway, and if I had it I’d just give my original ID AA and leave it in the console for the next crewmember that would have joined.

It might take a bit longer to reach a consensus on the exact direction to give for these circumstances, but no reason to hold up on lifting this since you’ve fully explained your side of things now.

I’m not able to lift it myself at this exact moment though so I’ve sent a ping for someone else to when they can

Great, thank you very much!

Alright final decision has come down:

Please don’t play ghost roles with the intention of boarding the station, with exception to the one that is explicitly meant to be rescued by the station (the escape pod one). Don’t utilize metaknowledge of the station and its resources as any ghost role.
