Whitelist the server then, make it a hugbox with no silly names and you solve both the issues right? LRP is full and MRP is happy with greenshifts. Or will both servers slowly die out?
Sage IS supposed to be a greenshift hugbox. Thats WHY i prefer lrp. What i am struggling to understand is - WHY the fuck would you wanna go to a HUGBOX AND UN-HUGBOX it, instead of going to the server SPECIFICALLY MADE FOR YOUR KINDA PLAYSTYLE?

i mean the riot was kind of bc A) it’s a well-known regular and B) the argument presented by ruko felt a little bit like “this is prolly common sense” logic (which i don’t really see an issue with, but it certainly warranted some backlash)

I stated my own reasons before, as for others I don’t know. What I am struggling to undestand is how a name like Dorito defines ones playstyle and this thead is about it and nothing more.

I’m not particularly happy with the initial bwoink Nick received or the way he was treated at first, but I’m also not happy it was turned into the ordeal that it became. I don’t want Nick to leave for good over it either.
I want the players who like a chaotic/wacky environment to have fun and enjoy the game, but I want them to enjoy it on the server labeled “Chaotic Fun for everyone” not “RP for everyone”.
I don’t consider names to be unimportant, I’m simply opposing those that are, in nature, LRP and yet are placed upon Sage. You’re arguing for somebody’s right to call themselves Dorito, when they could literally go onto LRP and do the very thing they wanted to do.
It’s not about whitelists, it’s about a player’s ability to comprehend rules. I’m not sure what part of “medium roleplay” you don’t get. A hugbox would completely remove antags and cater to all players, which Sage does not do. If it was a hugbox, security would not exist. It merely has a higher roleplay standard than Golden, and those who don’t want to abide by MRP rules can go to LRP. Don’t like Sage, go to Golden. End of story. Simple as.
The a) point is what makes the communities point of view invalid. You dont let someone get away with something just because they are a regular, and you DO, in fact, FOLLOW THE FUCKING RULES.
If youd prefer a server without the rule you dont like, pick the ONE fucking server WITH EVERYTHING but that rule - golden!
Honestly LRP is also a shithole but it’s a free shithole, and it pretty much self regulated due to acting the shitter making you valid, it’s just that there’s usually 1 or 2 people on who get away with whatever due to no admins online. If we had actual admins it would be better hands down.

It’s not about playstyle, it’s about some semblance of guidelines and actual roleplay standards. If they want a meme name, they can go to LRP or just change their name to something else. If they refuse to do this, that’s not on us, that’s on them.

Golden is not a nonrp server. Its not supposed to be one, that is. But because of the ignorant motherfuckers who poison mrp with their CLEAR lrp intentions (lemme give you a fucking comparison PARADISE = mrp, sage = lrp, golden SHOULD be lrp) it is.

Nick Dorito is literally fine though, people named themselves after jobs (last names like Baker, Fletcher, or Potter come to mind) so who’s to say they won’t start doing again in the future? Plus you can’t act like the name “Nick Dorrito” exists in a vacuum. If I come up with a character named Dave Pringles yeah it’s skirting the line a bit but it’s not terrible like UNG Glob, and the guy has literally had this name for a full year.

I don’t get the part where “medium roleplay” turned into “hard roleplay” in it’s naming policy. Tianmen massacre?Chad Cock? Furry hunter? Yeah they can play LRP. Nick Dorito? I’m not so sure.
As someone from the place that doesn’t even have Doritos his last name didn’t even click in my head before all of this even though I saw some memes with these chips.
