I was the sec officer Declan Mikakee. Sec was just a mess that round. One officer got demoted for beating a roboticist to death for reasons never made clear, detective goes off on the HoS, Warden gets banned for shitsec… In medbay, when det was confronted, there was definitely a moment where he seemed to realize “oh, I’m actually in the wrong here”. After that though, as far as I remember, things sort of went south after someone (either the lizard janitor or one of the medical folks watching the whole thing) started getting physical. HoS starts batonning the det, I follow their lead, some random people decide to jump in and assume the HoS is rogue… As I said, it was a mess.

It was such a mess that those two people who screamed HoS rouge thought I harm battoned the det.
Yeah, I don’t know why that is… Is there a visual or audio cue to differentiate normal stun batonning from harmbatonning?
If someone is doing a harmbaton it makes the stun sound and a whack sound, where safe batonning makes just the stun sound.

Learning that Richard acts like a snide dickhead with a superiority complex when playing security isn’t too surprising to me.
I remember a while ago, when he was doing his very funny “Paperwork at all costs even when the station is falling apart at the seams” gimmick, I got bombed not once, not twice, but thrice as a scientist due to being the target of several Traitors, and my ID got disintegrated with most of my clothes, and I lost one of my arms.
So I went up to his line, asked him if I could just skip the paperwork and get my ID because I was in “real danger”, and he said “Nope, sorry, gotta fill the paperwork!”, at which point something or other I can’t remember stopped me from being able to fill it out, and he still tried to push me to do paperwork and “not break the SOP!” even as multiple Traitors were on me and the station was going to hell because he felt like it, I guess.
Even Gukle, who’s normally just an asshole to me, took my side on it and tried to yell at him “Fuck the SOP, just give her the goddamn ID before she gets blown up again” and had to argue for something about ten minutes before he conceded and gave me my ID back…and then didn’t give me my R&D labs access, so I had to ask a fucking Abductor if he’d be willing to go to the EXPERI-MENTOR room and buy me clothes and in exchange i’d consent to being kidnapped by them.
I’m not a particular fan of people who seem to take pleasure from lording over and inconveniencing other people around them just because they like to see other people not having fun or being insulted, so you can probably guess my biases on this one.
