I’m back and heres my journey:
My Journey on learning Fusion
So first things first… How lucky was I, that useful sources, suddenly flew into my pocket and also another mentor application getting asked similar questions ![]()
Lets begin, with what I started:
I already knew the basics of atmospherics, how air works, pipe networking etc… For me the confusing part was the mixing of itself and what containers I had to use. Prior I had no knowledge on how to acquire tritium (just that you need to mix something and burn it)
Sources I used to learn the following
After reading about the Fusion I read a keyword (LOTS OF TRITIUM), so the first thing I started learning was how to make Tritium.
-
Initially I set a single goal for myself: Obtain a canister full of Tritium, by means of mixing gases. (So I could repeat the steps if needed for more canisters and totally not to complete the Tritium bounty as a QM later
). -
I began trying to construct my own Hotbox, which ended up horribly and left me confused on what I did wrong, I tried to follow the recipe for the portions but failed miserably. (Mostly I did not understood on how to deal with the waste).
-
So I went looking for something more easier and stumbled upon this gold:
Mias Science Fusion guide
I followed exactly everything up until the “Fusion chamber” and managed to create enough Tritium to fill a canister and probably could have continued further on…
If you’ve never done this, I highly recommend to follow this as it was very easy to repeat and obtain good results.
(I wasn’t happy with how small was the box for fusion, so I stopped following the guide and moved onto what @Wikimody provided) -
After learning on how to aquire a full Tritium canister, I moved on to the first guide that was provided by @Wikimody
Guide by Wikimody on Fusion
-
When creating this fusion chamber, I allowed myself to spawn any amounts of canisters as I know how to make them, from previous steps.
- I built everything as instructed in the image
- Filled the Fusion chamber with 4x canisters of CO2/PLASMA
- Heated it up with the help of Tritium burn up to ~ 16000 K
- Realised that my tritium burn is not producing enough Tritium, so I started injecting Tritium canisters into the Fusion chamber.
- Voila, Fusion!
- Played around to see, how long can I keep it running, by injecting missing parts of the Fusion formula. Before finally… deleting a plasma window and see the entire Centcom arrivals burn down in a seconds notice.
How to start the Fusion?
So a simple answer would be to aquire all the conditions in your Hotbox:
Have lots of Plasma
Have lost of CO2
Reach high temperature ~10K+
Start injecting Tritium
How to keep it stable?
From read sources and what I’ve experienced Tritium burns out quickly, so have either a good Tritium burn that is producing Industry levels of Tritium or have a few canisters set aside and inject them manually to keep the Fusion going.
Plasma and CO2 does not burn out quickly, but you will need to refill these from time to time as well.
Fusion is creating insane amounts of heat, so tritium burn after Fusion is not needed.
What is it used for?
Make walls glow green, quickly.
Burn the entire station and force a shuttle
But in reality
… anything you can apply the following 2 things:
Heat and Radiation, for example power generation via Turbines and Rad Collectors.
