How long have you been playing ss13?: - About Eight Months! A bit more than 700 hours in that time (I have been informed by my legal counsel to include a screenshot of my hours)

Who vouches for your experience (if anyone)?: - Nexendia!

Game Experience (More Detailed): My hours are pretty spread out, so I’ve got a good general knowledge of a lot of things, though I wouldn’t say I have Really deep information about some aspects of some jobs. My highest playtime roles are Station Engineer, Shaft Miner, And AI, but I’ve also got a very good grasp of the medical system and chemistry. Above all else, I consider myself to be well rounded without being too knowledgeable about the more advanced mechanics of a given role.

  1. “I was exploring deep space in my trusty hardsuit when I stumbled upon an abandoned syndicate research station. Inside, I found a prototype energy weapon labeled ‘X-74 Nova Disruptor,’ but when I try to fire it, nothing happens! The description says it requires an external power source, and there’s a strange slot on the side that doesn’t fit any standard cell. I also noticed a blinking red light on the weapon’s side. The onboard diagnostics screen flickers when I shake it, displaying cryptic error messages like ‘Power Substrate Error: 004-XA’ and ‘Magnetic Containment Field Unstable.’ Nearby, I found a broken-down exosuit fabricator with what looks like parts of a charging dock, but I can’t tell if it’s relevant. The station itself is a mess—half of it is depressurized, the other half is crawling with rogue drones that keep trying to weld the walls shut behind me. There’s also a locked room labeled ‘Experimental Ballistics Storage’ that I haven’t managed to break into yet, but I hear a faint humming noise from inside. I have a few questions: First, what kind of power source does this weapon need, and where can I find one? Second, is there a chance that it’s missing internal components, and if so, how do I identify and replace them? Third, given that this is Syndicate tech, is there a risk of it being rigged with some kind of failsafe or self-destruct mechanism, and if so, how do I check for one before I accidentally turn myself into space dust? And finally, should I even bother trying to get this thing working, or am I just going to end up in the brig when Security inevitably scans me and sees that I’m carrying an illegal energy weapon of unknown origin?”**

  1. “The AI has gone completely silent, and the station’s power grid is acting strangely. APCs show power, but doors and machines are unresponsive. The AI’s core on the station is intact, but it won’t respond to pings, and its cameras are all disabled. Engineering says the SMES units are charged and outputting power properly. Someone mentioned that an AI satellite exists, but I have no idea how to get there or what to look for once I do. The captain, in a panic, authorized a shuttle call, but now the shuttle is just sitting in orbit refusing to dock. Meanwhile, Cargo claims they were trying to order more power cells and somehow ended up with a shipment of clown masks instead. After some investigation, I noticed that certain parts of the station still seem functional—some turrets are still powered, and the research servers in Science are humming along like nothing’s wrong. But when I tried to manually rewire a door to force it open, the panel shocked me so hard I passed out. Someone in Engineering is saying something about a ‘ghost load’ on the grid, and another person is convinced that an external force is siphoning power away from the station. There’s also a suspicious amount of static on the comms channel every time we try to discuss the AI situation. So, how do I troubleshoot this? Could the AI have been remotely disabled, and if so, how can I re-establish a connection? What are the possible causes of partial station-wide power loss despite full SMES charge? And is there a nonzero chance that we’re dealing with some kind of rogue intelligence lurking in the station’s infrastructure, secretly hijacking systems while we scramble around trying to fix things?”

  2. “As a lowly cargo technician, I’ve somehow been entrusted with constructing an orbital trade outpost on Lavaland, but I have no idea where to start. I was given some Rapid Construction Devices, but I keep getting errors when trying to build certain structures. The ground seems to reject certain materials, and when I try to place reinforced walls, they just disappear into the abyss like they were never there. My PDA keeps buzzing with messages from the Quartermaster, who is screaming about our supply budget running out because someone (not me, I swear) accidentally ordered 200 crates of plush toys instead of actual building materials. To make matters worse, I’ve encountered unexpected environmental hazards. At first, I thought ash storms were the biggest issue, but now I’ve noticed that certain sections of my build site seem to be… shifting. Entire walls have vanished overnight, and in their place, I find strange markings in the dirt. One of my coworkers swears they saw something moving just beyond our floodlights, but when we checked the cameras, all we saw was static. Also, the disposal unit I installed somehow leads directly into the station’s kitchen instead of the waste processing system, which is causing all sorts of chaos. So, first question: How do I properly construct a stable, functioning trade outpost without losing materials to the void? Second, how do I integrate the cargo request console so that traders can actually place and receive orders from the station? Third, is there some kind of eldritch nonsense happening on Lavaland that I should be concerned about, and should I be taking any precautions against whatever might be watching us from the darkness? And finally, who the hell keeps ordering plush toys, and how do I stop them from draining our budget before I even finish building this damn outpost?”

  3. "I’ve been experimenting with chemical reactions in Chemistry, and I want to create the largest possible explosion using purely chemicals. I’ve heard potassium and water is amateur-hour stuff, and I want something truly catastrophic. I started by trying to make basic explosive compounds, but my lab partner ‘accidentally’ left a beaker of unstable plasma mix on the counter, and now Medbay has to deal with five people suffering from spontaneous combustion. After some trial and error (and being banned from using the primary chemistry station), I started working in Maintenance with stolen lab equipment. I’ve heard rumors about a secret formula that involves trinitro-oxide and something called ‘hyper-energized volatile destabilizer,’ but I can’t find any documentation on how to synthesize them. Some shady scientist in R&D mentioned that I might need to ‘bend the laws of molecular cohesion’ to reach the next tier of explosive potential, but I have no idea what that means. Meanwhile, Security has started sniffing around because apparently my ‘small-scale tests’ were setting off the station’s seismic detectors.

5. Did you realise all of those questions were bullshit before getting to question five or did you skip to the shortest one? :troll:

Answering Marshmellow’s totally legitimate and real questions!

  1. That’s great! What you’re going to want to do is build a SECOND supermatter engine by purchasing the supermatter sliver from engineering, and then directly wiring it into your weapon. As for the internal components, you’re able to print them from any basic autolathe! If they are in fact missing, you’ll need a full toolbox to replace any of the damaged or missing components. Third, absolutely! That’s why you should also try to find a Syndicate Agent card so it won’t gain sentience and shoot you in the leg. Finally, who cares! If the weapon’s working, Security isn’t your issue anymore anyway.
  2. This is actually a station event that can happen randomly during the round! During it, a malevolent energy signature will be created in the station’s power network, and it’s controlled by a player! This mid-round antag is most notable for its dangerous electricity based powers! to combat this dangerous threat, you have to destroy every APC on the station to kill it.
  3. Congratulations! This is a very high honor to be given as a cargo technician. Your mistake is that you’re trying to build an orbital station ON lavaland, instead of in its orbit! As for the treacherous plushie orderer, you can always set up a trap by rigging an explosive onto the supply terminal! That way nobody can ruin your budget ever again. As for the eldritch events, this is just part of what happens when you try to build an orbital trade base on Lavaland! Remember, the entirety of Lavaland is in fact a sentient creature in the code that we DO NOT know how to kill. Try to appease it with a blood sacrifice!
  4. Don’t even bother with chemistry. Just directly message every admin at once and you’ll see the biggest explosion possible! <3
  5. I read all of these with care because you are my dear friend, Marshmallow.

Hooray you finally applied!!! good to see beestations wacky and fun IPC who has this weird obsession with ‘Robot Goddess’

I’ll leave the big questions to those who know more than myself :^)

For now…

  1. I was just killed by the chef… it looks like I’m being revived can I go kill him?

  2. How do I stop stubbing my toes on tables?

  3. How do I open the safe in the vault?

  4. Someone mentions they just got traitor but want to know how they can ‘ignore it and play normally’ How do you respond to this?

Yeah TL:DR buddy

Replying to Alijah’s actual questions here!

  1. Sorry, but no! Whenever you are killed, your character loses the last five minutes of life to memory loss. Your character can’t remember that it was the chef who killed them!
  2. This one I’m not entirely certain on because I’m like 60 percent certain IPCs can’t stub their toes normally, BUT! I’d say “In order to stop stubbing your toes on tables, make sure you’re wearing shoes!”
  3. You can open the safe in the vault via two ways! The first and easiest way is to use three explosives on it, though it’ll make a lot of noise. The second way it to hold a stethoscope and begin adjusting the safe’s dials! You’ll want to adjust the safe’s dials one way until you hear a tonk, krunk, plunk, tink, krink, or plink. Then adjust the dial in the other direction until you hear a Spring, Sprang, Sproing, Clunk, or Krunk! Capitalization is important, best of luck!
  4. Immediately promote to an ahelp, since that’s not something I can help with!

Good responses, I was hoping you’d notice the funny with the stubbing toes question and I’m sure you did.

Going to hold off my +1 till there are more questions and answers posted

OH NO ITS CD!! No matter though. MAPPLICATION QUESTION TIME!!

  1. “how do i get my hands on that one zombie-maker thing”
  2. “how do i set up a singulo-thingie to make power”
  3. “how do i work sci toxins”
  4. i also just wanna make sure you have read the mentor rules

Fun ones to ask! (DaCapox question answers!)

  1. That sounds an awful lot like Romerol! That is a traitor only item, and I believe it’s only available once a certain player number has been reached! If you are a traitor, you can find it by using your syndicate uplink.
  2. A singularity engine can be a very fun way to provide power for the station! As it can be hard to explain over text, I’d recommend either utilizing this link Singularity and Tesla engines - BeeStation Wiki or hitting the Request Mentor Assistance button to get some on hands help! You can also always ask an engineer if they’d be willing to teach you, if they know how to do it themselves!
  3. Toxins is a challenging process in which you try to create the largest bomb possible! There are a variety of ways to experiment with bomb mixes, but the most common form utilizes superheated plasma and supercooled oxygen/tritium! I’d recommend asking another scientist or the research director to teach you a Toxins set-up, as it can be very difficult to do by yourself the first time.
  4. Yep, Sure have!
  1. “i cant find it on here. Why cant i?”
  2. pretty good. dont REALLY like that you say “ask other people in your department” but thats not the WORST THING, so ill still count this as a good one.
  3. “Theres no one else in my department right now. Can you tell me how to do it? like make the tritium and stuff? and how to make the actual bomb?” (dont really like that you said “ask someone else again”. your job is to tell them how to do it. not the other people in their department.)
  4. good

Understood! I’ll absolutely avoid the “pawn it off to other people” thing from now on.

  1. Amended, “You’ll need to have something that classifies as a murderbone objective for it to show up! These objectives are Die a Glorious Death, and Hijack the Escape Shuttle.” If you don’t have a murderbone objective, it won’t show up for purchase.
  2. Amended, much better version, ask on the mentor channel for help since I don’t know toxins very well, and if that fails, utilize this message. “You’re going to want to put plasma and oxygen into your burn chamber, igniting the mix to create Tritium. You may then extract the Tritium and combine with oxygen at a 2 to 1 oxygen to tritium ratio. Cool this gas mixture by using a thermomachine, and then heat a canister of plasma using a thermomachine. Then, attach both of these tanks to a Tank Transfer Valve, and attach your preferred version of detonation to it last! The most common method is a remote signaller, which you’ll want to make sure is set to any signal except for the default one. Finally, load up your bomb into the toxins launcher and send it to the test site! Once it’s safely arrived, you can signal the bomb with your chosen signal. Ideally, you should end up with a very nice explosion! I’m happy to come in via the Request Mentor Assistance button to provide further aid. Is there anything I can clarify?”
  1. Good
  2. Good
Seems pretty good overall. you shouldnt try to pawn it to other people, and your explanations were good as well.

  1. I just switched the cell in my chemical dispenser and I exploded! What happened?!
  2. I inserted my IC into a BMI but it won’t run when implanted. How do I get it to do anything?
  3. I can’t move.

Answering Marvin’s frankly very difficult questions!

  1. Sorry, could you explain a bit more of the details of what was going on? Did you have a beaker in the dispenser, and if so, what was in it?
  2. Could you clarify further on what you mean by IC and BMI, Please?
  3. Assuming they’re not like, stuck because they need to do something mechanically, I’ll go with “Sorry, I can’t help with that! I’ll promote you to an adminhelp right away!”
  1. I had a beaker in it, but I only had salt in it. It ran out of charge, so I picked up a charged cell off the table and swapped it out! The dispenser then exploded!
  2. The circuit thingy that goes in your brain with the machine. It’s labelled Brain Circuit Interface.
  3. Try again, this is not an Ahelp situation. This one happens occasionally with newbies.

(Yes, I’m being a bit obtuse with the questions, but these are based on some that I’ve gotten or seen in the past. These are also some of the harder ones, because I know you can get the easier ones)

(Hey, you being obtuse is good! If people are going to ask obtuse questions, and they will, I need to be prepared for them. These are really great.)
Kay… (Marvin Part two)

  1. (I’m not taking credit for this one cause I got help) Sounds like your power cell had plasma injected in it! To make sure your cell isn’t rigged to explode, make sure you examine it first! A rigged power cell will let you know by the examine text being “This Power Cell Seems To Be Faulty!”
  2. Alright! I think you mean Brain Computer Interface, and if I’m right, you’re having an issue with your integrated circuit! Could you tell me a bit more about what your IC is meant to do? Also, make sure you’re implanting it with the proper machinery, and not just trying to insert it surgically!
  3. Hiya, make sure you unbuckle from the shuttle seat by either pressing the “buckled” button in the top right of your screen, or the “resist” button in the lower right of your screen! You can also resist out of buckles by pressing B. (the SECOND I joined another round I figured it out, very sneaky I like that one a lot)

  1. Perfect. The interactions on discord was useful for this. We need to use all of our resources, and sometimes that’s asking stupid questions in Discord so someone smarter can figure it out. If you had gone directly to Discord and asked the question directly, that would have been Eh, but you were doing what I do when code diving for a weird interaction. (Github → Private server)
  2. “It should just cause me to say “Hello” when I push the BCI action button in the HUD. The trigger wire is connected between the two. I put the circuit into the shell, and then put it in the machine and stood in it and it said that it was implanted.”
  3. Good, you figured it out. My recommendation is just not to be too aggressive with the promote button. Especially on low pop, we can lack admin coverage, so you have to make sure it isn’t an admin problem before they get kicked into the void.

That is a super helpful insight with the promotion thing, thank you! Now, to continue tackling circuits which I continue to have zero experience with. ( I will also make sure to properly code dive all of the components of a given problem before attempting to delve back into faux Beestation)

  1. (CONTINUED CONTINUED) Did you remember to charge the inserted power cell? Also, make sure you’re connecting a BCI Action Component’s signal to your Speech Component’s Trigger! (You made me learn basic circuitry, you sly dog)
