This is an aspect that worries me a lot. I’ve been told that because of how I RP, its easy to pick me out, even when I rarely play as a different static, or an admin spawned human to help someone with an issue out IC. (You would not believe how often chefs will drop their IDs while inside a fridge and lock themselves in on accident.)
Even higher in this thread, it has been mentioned by one or two people
If you have a group in your community that literally makes a player consider retiring their character that they have 600 hours on with their bullshit, the problem is that group, not said player. One would think that if the player was doing things that were problematic, it would have come up in said 600 hours. Meanwhile they are an admin in good standing so what the f…
Under any circumstance is it acceptable for any community that someone decides to be the arbiter of what is acceptable and what not (outside of course of server staff) and proceeds to harass a player in good standing so hard they want to quit. And yes, there is exactly 0% chance this is not targeted harassment. Its deplorable. Absolutely excise that shit, because its cancer to any online community.
They don’t stop. They will continue to find new victims because the objective here is the harassment itself. Do yourselves a favor and purge it before it becomes deeply rooted and harder to remove. I guarantee you that everyone who is left will have a better time.
Honestly because you play a blind paraplegic it makes sense that you would have at least someone with you most of the time. The chatacter would need the support of others daily so to me having other people who are willing to help shouldn’t be discourage infact I wish more disabled characters had people willing to help them like Kiera does.
Also it was said earlier in this threat but I don’t usually see you staying in one place with some big group of people. More often than not you’re actually working in the genes labs or cargo by yourself while occasionally talking to those who visit you.
Now people going out of their way to help and acting like they know you despite barely interacting with you before is weird but I guess that’s what becoming a beestation celebrity causes. It’s upsetting that you have to consider retiring the character not because you’ve grown bored of them but because others keep trying to ruin it for you.
I wouldn’t let them do it personlly but just know that Kiera herself isn’t the problem at all.
I have suggestion for this since it helped me in the past and that’s to make a charater that is the complete opposite to what kiera was.
I think you shouldn’t care about anyone and put your enjoyment as priority.
although I think that your character gimmick is overdone and I was frequently wondering how a person can basically play a text adventure game for hundreds of hours.
