You kill everyone. Simple. No witnesses.
The temptation to post this in your currently empty staff feedback thread is⌠immense.
i believe i already listed this one see step five
I feel like, from a game design perspective, youâre not supposed to.
Iâve been looking at this thread for a while, on and off, and itâs made me realize that itâs more fun if you canât stealthily enter the vault. Sure, you can stealthily get into the vault, and itâs fun to, but itâs a wall that you need very specific tools to get around that crucially arenât always consistently available.
The vault is an objective that says, assuming a station with an AI, âItâs go timeâ. A vault objective usually forces your hand, and I think thatâs a good thing.
This is the true answer. Sneaking into the vault is rather boring and uneventful. It is far more interesting to preform an elaborate Payday style heist than trying to sneak in and getting caught with your pants down then having to either surrender, get tased, or run off with no profit.
Most fun way I did once was planting low yield explosives around the station to divert attention, planted an EMP bomb in tcomms to prevent the AI from quickly organising sec.
Before the heist I exploded the nades to cause some chaos and then just blowed my way into it from space with methnades, was on Radstation.
After the comms went back on sec and command basically went âoh damn nuke core missingâ, but at that point I was already in my engi disguise helping fix the damage I myself caused.
Also had an acid nade hidden in front of the vault in a smuggler satchel as contingency if someone tried to stop me.
As for stealth, just use a launchpad. Bonus points for using chameleon to frame some helpless crewmember (or even your target if you have a kill objective).
âHe stole the Nuke Core, kill them!â
Doubt the station would kill your target for you unless they are professional valid hunters.
I mean the captain can authorize their execution/borging (not sure if borging counts as a kill or not). Im not 100% sure on how often captains authorize executions but I doubt its common. Likewise the AI may simply outright prevent the killing of the target due to its laws or at best push for borging. If the captain does not agree to an execution or borging, you can try to inspire the crew to get them executed, forcing a trial in which upon the judges ruling may they be executed. If both options fail you are going to have to break into the prison, kill the target and figure out how to 401 them before security kicks your ass. Lets not forget upon further examination or arguments from a lawyer could make security change their mind about who it was.
Overall very difficult to legally get your target executed by command. Youâre better off trying to kill them in other means (Although Imagine how fucking sick it would be if you actually managed to get your target executed).
One time, as a Changeling QM, I fully disguised myself and ran into the vault (Didnât know that walking prevented the sensor), so I ran in, bolted the door shut, and began to get the Nuke core after disabling the camera. However, this was on Rad, and there is a camera RIGHT OUTSIDE of the vault, so Sec came in, we had a stand off that ended in me booking the fuck out of the vault until they eventually got juked by me and I fucking booked it out of there. So, if youâre cutting cameras, ALSO cut the camera in front of the vault so the AI canât let anyone in case they do notice you.
It does, but in some instances you wonât complete your objective by borging or force AI:ing your target.
AHAHAHAHHHAAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHA!!!
Hold on a second.
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAA
Okay, Iâm done.
No, it wonât happen. lol
It would be sick, but also insanely difficult.
preferred way to do this as a geneticist is to get monkified mutation
ventcrawl into vault
realize your monkey hands cannot open a cabinet
return to genetics to get telekinesis
somehow THAT works on the cabinet
hooray secret files found
except I cannot pull them in the vent
monkey around so that camera motion sensor is triggered
wait in the vents until someone comes in and book it the way they came
reality: itâs a borg
the moment it sees me try to escape it bolts the door
it pulls welder out with killer intent
God
Not this, itâs easier to murk someone readily available in perma without equipment
Except all of the Security Officers who are equipped two meters away from Perma.
