Anyway, does it function like the “randomize character” tick in the appearance menu?
Can you choose your race even?
im… not sure actualy if it affects species.
But yes, it does force you into random appearance and name.

It forces random appearance and name, yes.
You still get to choose your race, quirks and everything else about your character - just not your physical appearance within that race or your name.

Does the random names work with the diffrent race’s naming guides actuely? I never used the option myself

Random names followed naming policy before we started enforcing it even.
Would be rather strange if it didnt

I guess it would depend how competent they are and whether or nor they look at medical records I guess

What exactly would cause an appearance ban?
Most often failing (or refusing) to follow naming policy after having been already warned for it.
