Sentences don’t stack but honestly the tator should’ve either been Borged, pacified with surgery, executed or perma’d. Especially after he broke into security to steal lethals. If you do that many violent crimes, you shouldn’t just get 15 minutes and you’re free.

It’s not the captain’s job to handle prisoners, you had a Warden, you should have told him to install a tracking implant into the prisoner.
Overall I think you really should lay off the whole ‘round remove the valid’ lawset as I think you’d absolutely hate to be on the receiving end of your own treatment.
I was a measly officer. And i did propose pacifying implants, but you didn’t care. You just saw a lower rank knowing more than you and you said “hey stop it”
I think it would likely be best to stop arguing or adding opinions to this report and let an admin handle it. Everything that needs to be said has been said, anything else is just bloat that will make the admins sad.

So from what I gather from logs, the Warden wanted the Traitor dead via execution, and the Captain refused to allow an execution multiple times. No Trial was held by any member of command staff or security.
The Traitor had been caught breaking space law and caught with antag items, as such should have been detained, then taken to trial for Capital Crimes - Enemy Of The Corporation due to the fact they where caught with Syndicate contraband, then caught a second time breaking space law.
However, as above, no trial was held, so execution would have been unlawful either way.
The following is taken from the Space Law wiki page-
In instances where a conflict of opinion arises over the sentence of a prisoner the chain of command must be followed.
This goes, from top to bottom: Captain > Head of Security > Warden > Sec Officer / Detective.For reference on trials, In cases where the Death Penalty is desired but the Captain or Acting-Captain is unable or unwilling to authorize the execution a trial is required to authorize the death penalty.
Establish a magistrate. Under normal conditions this will be the Head of Personnel.
The chain of succession for this role shall be Head of Personnel, Research Director, Chief Medical officer, Chief Engineer, any Acting head of staff which is not the acting captain or acting head of security. The Quartermaster may sit in lieu of the head of personnel if requested by the head of personnel.
So, going via logs, the captain did not suggest any timers or other forms of prisoner sentencing, as such the HoS’s prompt for gulag should have been followed, if that was missed then the Warden should have decided on either Perma, or Gulag. As Execution and Cyborging need Captains Approval.
The Captain may only order the execution of a crewmember in compliance with Space Law.
The captain did not authorise or order any execution, They also did not suggest any alternatives for sentencing, as such the Traitor should have been given either Permanent Prison Time or Permanent Labor Camp Time by the Warden or HoS.
For my conclusion here
- The captain did not aid/defend an antagonist by denying an execution, the captain is the one able to authorise such a thing, deciding to deny an execution is an option.
- The captain did not suggest any sentencing or set any brig timers.
- The captain had the warden checked for brain trauma after the wardens constant attempts for an execution.
- The captain denied experimental surgery on the traitor as it was immoral in their opinion.
- The captain asked another officer to arrest Ianuarii after Ianuarii mentioned that they wanted a new captain, calling them dumb, and telling them they should be executed under space law, or demoted.
- The captain, when asked, told the security team the charge was Insubordination.
As such, I find this report an IC issue.
The warden at any time could have given the Traitor a Perma prison sentence, in either permabrig or gulag, and did not.
The captain did not break space law in this instance either.
