Ban Reason: Threw a brand new player into a infinite delivery loop as non antag on Golden. Global ban auth Bass

Appeal Reason: The round was a 10ish pop LRP round. I built the loop to dick around with because the round had gone on for a while at that point and I was extremely bored since LRP isn’t fun when it’s 10 players and antags aren’t doing shit so I built it to create some sort of action and threw a random player in chem into it with the intention of unwelding the pipe in a little while. I was cucked by the antag before I could unweld it and both me and the guy that threw him in were 8 day’d for it. I don’t expect a full unban I just think that 8 days for disposal looping a guy for like 5 minutes or something is excessive given that people can shitsec perma someone for a whole round and only get a job ban for like a few days. Also why it’s longer for “muh new player” is somewhat stupid since how the hell am I supposed to know the playtime stats of a random player I haven’t met or spoken to? The ban implies I was going out of my way to target noobs to griff and is excessively long for that reason which is just plain stupid.

Additional Information: I just want a decrease, I agree that I deserve a ban for self antagging but 8 days for me and Rublax for doing the equivalent of a 5 minute brig timer on a guy is pretty dumb

I mean 10 player pop LRP with a single antag who isn’t antagging is basically sextended and that isn’t on LRP for a good reason, that reason being that at some point you basically have to self antag to even have fun on LRP extended

Why not just make a rage cage in the bar? Those who don’t wish conflict can watch and the fighters could fight over the belt. That sounds much more fun than just watching someone go in circles for five minutes.

First off you are both mentors, the only mentors we had on the server at the time.

This is Honk going and grabbing the chemist. Looking through the logs does get me a bit tilt which isn’t really common. The dude was excited and roleplaying with people as a chemist. He was talking with a borg about cures and testing recipes and all that good innocent shit people do when they are just getting into a game. Yes you had no way of knowing the player was new, but you are playing on a station advertised for new people with the a senior title of mentor. As non-antags with literally no provocation you decided to methodically build out a infinite loop to shove people in.

After reading that there is no doubt you did the right thing here. If anything they should be thanking you that the ban is only eight days.

I agree, ban seems justified.

Getting bored and forcing people, who are completely innocent, out of the round for any amount of time isn’t a pro gamer move, A breach of rule 1, if you will.

“I got bored.” isn’t a valid excuse. If you’re so bored, try getting people to play on LRP again or just go to MRP, if you aren’t banned from it. Contribute and strengthen the community instead of trying to break it.
