Honestly, I kind of like heritics in their current form. I feel the challenge makes up for the massive potential of late game good heretics. The only problems imo are the round removal and the stalk objective being kinda broken. Which could easily be made up by giving heritics more potential to make ghost roles and helpers (maybe at the cost of assension power?) or by making the sacrifice work more like a contract allowing the target to come back after an extended period of time.
Whatever else you change keep Ashen Shift in, being able to dab on sec by teleporting out of brig or perma is pretty much the only thing that makes heretic fun for me.
