Ban Reason: Botanist self antag again – throwing mutation cabbages at other players on shuttle and at random on the station. Fourth offense.

Appeal Reason: Well the number one issue I see here is that there was no mutation serum in these cabbages… they were loaded with alcohol and some tirizene to my memory, and were intended to get people very drunk. I was under the impression that is ok to feed people alcohol, and the round had been a very long extended round IIRC, so our goal in botany was to produce fun cabbages that everyone could use to party.

Now, that being said, if it is not ok to provide alcohol to people, I sincerely apologize. I didn’t know that it was, but if it is, I see the error of my ways.

I am confused about the mutation toxin thing, as there was no mutation chemicals in the cabbages. Maybe someone else mutated from something else and made a mistake?

I am not sure. I do not want to cause any issues here, I come to you with my hat in my hand, and I’m sorry for everything.

The reason for the confusion here is I never actually spoke to an admin, we finished the round and I logged out in the next one. Maybe they got the wrong person. Anyways, if my alcohol cabbages were not allowed I offer my deepest apologies. It would be something like to the depth a sperm whale can descend. Such majestic creatures - and brave too!

Additional Information: I want to offer my condolences to anyone who was affected by this incident.

We have a backlogging system and I handle reports that are shoved there - it’s like diet player reports. Someone opens a ticket near the end of the round or in the middle of a really busy round that will take an unusual amount of time to investigate, it gets shoved into the backlog and I try to handle all of those once or twice a week.

I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt on the cabbages not having mutation toxin (because I didn’t include the actual round ID in the ban reason so I literally can’t double-check), but it’s still your third time using botany to self antag, and fourth time doing something majorly disruptive on Sage in general.

  1. Don’t Self Antag
    Self-antagging includes (but is not limited to) damaging the station, attacking other players without reason, and subverting the established chain of command as a non-antagonist role. You need a reason justified by roleplay to cause harm to others.

You can’t just throw your produce at people for no reason, it’s not okay to drug someone against their will at random either, and I feel like you entirely missed the point of the other two situations you’ve had. First time you were throwing explosive and mutative vegetables, second time it was just combustible lemons. You’ve downgraded your produce, but you’re missing the point of why you were getting in trouble in the first place.

Sage is an RP server and most of your actions should have some sort of IC motivation, not throwing drugged produce just because “I thought I was allowed to get people drunk”. We have a second server that’s a lot more open to this sort of chaos (and even welcomes it). You’ll be answered with death instead of a ban for running around and forcefully making people drunk.

I repeal this until the matter below is settled. If they can’t understand why this is harmful for an RP server, there’s no reason to revoke or lessen the ban.

My only confusion is whether it counts as self-antag to feed someone alcohol. The entire purpose of the cabbages was just to get people hilariously drunk. I didn’t realize that would count under antagonism, and so again I apologize if I was antagonistic to the people. My only wish was to bring them joy, and I have failed to do so.

You didn’t feed them cabbages is the problem. You threw cabbages that burst at people and forcibly got them drunk and drugged them with Tirizene.
Do you understand the problem with medbay running around and shooting people with a syringe gun that has morphine in it?

You can’t run around and forcefully drug people for no reason, even if you’re not doing actual harm to them. The first step to being a shitter is disrupting others just because you can and you’re bored. Without the mutation toxin, it’s probably not severe enough to count as self-antag anymore, but it’s still not suitable to an RP environment at all.

I’d say this isn’t exactly proper roleplay of a Botanist who wants to keep their job; in addition there’s the fact that due to how smoke works it can quickly get people drunk to the point of taking liver or toxin damage, plus the tirizene dealing 13 stamina damage a tick and placing people at more risk if they are in a hostile environment or need medical attention, or if somebody decided to get into a fight at that time.

Certainly not the worst possible thing to do, but it did pose a direct risk to other crew members and wasn’t a very RP friendly environment; would you, as a sane person, run up to somebody and forcefully drug them with some form of vapour based alcohol that also disables all of their muscles? Probably not.

Adjusted ban length to three weeks, and it will serve as a final warning for Non-RP shenanigans on Sage. Try Golden out during your downtime, you really might like the chaotic environment there. No powergaming or roleplaying rules and once you pick up on what does and doesn’t make players valid to kill, it’s pretty easy to find some unwilling test subjects for whatever you can grow.
