The Helium 3 Trilogy is amazing. I wont say why the author of the series is famous because they it would be to easy to figure out.
Sometimes i like to think that the Helium 3 Trilogy and The Expanse are in the same universe. They have a lot of the same aspects.
Issac Arthur is good for just general Sci-Fi stuff.
There is another series i like that is rather obscure and hasnt appeared in this thread yet, but i need to remember what it is.
Edit: Basically all of the Gundam series, Spacebattleship Yamato, Star Gate, Babylon 5 (A Classic i have yet to watch.), the entire Star Wars Expanded Universe.
Another good example of Hard Sci-Fi would be Seveneves! They play loose with science every so often, but the plot of “Moon blows up, how do we deal with the consequences” is somehow captivating.
