Why is this disabled?
Plenty of other servers keep it enabled through the round.
Even goon has begun to re-enable it.

Should be on both.
The solution if people are worried about it is a toggle as opposed to take it away entirely.

I see two theoretical reasons why they decided to disable OOC during rounds on MRP:
- ick ock
- it might break immersion for some people
As for the first reason: ick ock isn’t that big of a deal, honestly. Considering how MRP players are generally less validhunty less and trigger-happy compared to LRP players (let alone less robust) metaknowledge is really not that broken to have on MRP (of course, admins have to enforce rules against ick ock). Keep in mind that on LRP there still is OOC during rounds.
For the second reason: MRP players are, ironically, not interested in RP, on the whole. Both bee servers are chaotic, in their own regard, there’s not much place for any immersion in the first place. My experience with OOC on MRP has been pretty mild, there wasn’t many messages there during rounds anyway, so why bother to remove it?
OOC on MRP shouldn’t be needed. If the talk is game (but not current round related) like a game question you should probably know it before going on MRP, to begin with. If the OOC being used isn’t game-related at all, it just takes away from the MRP experience. It needlessly occupies the time and attention of admins when someone does abuse OOC whether through ick ock or other inappropriate behaviors.
If you want a more friendly environment for OOC go to LRP or better yet just go to the Discord server and you can chat about any topic to your heart’s desire.

There’s zero reason to fully disable it as it just punishes players who want to use it.
This still does not stop the fact that it becomes a needless and constant task that admins shouldn’t ever have to deal with on a MRP server to enforce rules because of unacceptable OOC behaviors.
Opting in/out is also a bad idea because those to opt in will be those more likely to abuse OOC while those who opt out will be the least likely to do so. Just making OOC overall even worse and less players to get the attention of admins should they need to.
Whatever - I think you’re grossly over exaggerating the issue. OOC enabled for all. If you can’t handle using ooc properly than admins can deal with it, they somehow manage to on tg.

Necroing this because we have the new chat thingy so we could keep ooc in there
Variety of reasons it’s disabled in game - I’d say it’s best to keep it like that.
Why would we need OOC in MRP when it already had LOOC enabled. If you want to continue your discussions, do it in discord. OOC has nothing but abuse to offer.
