Demodras/VANGUARD/Listens feedback thread

I feel like it’s time to finally open this topic.

Go hate on the characters I play or praise them

very moffy guy

I do appreciate how much you’ve seemingly improved RP-wise since you came here a few months ago and hope to see that continue

when you used the motorized wheel chair to tackle me in combat I really enjoyed how it called back to the wheelchair race I had interrupted

We all love motorized wheelchair

I only see you when you are on death’s door after baptising the station in your own coolant unrobust af

Absolute lies i can’t belive that

Started as a major gamer, it wasn’t long ago I had to suggest someone not follow your lead and use you as an example of how to approach the game.

Now you feel like a staple member of the crew.

The best constructive feedback I can give: Even without admin tools I can identify when you’re on and which character you are. Building your characters into distinct sets of habits and personalities is the next step to being a truly immersive character.

Well it will always be easy to see who I am habits die hard especially on lavaland, and the way how i speak, trying to change it with vanguard with all the unit requests etc etc

Idea behind characters was to make Demodras the sec character Vanguard engineer/Atmos and listens as miner, but it all just melts in the pot and ends somehow in any of these jobs

You’ve been fun to play with whenever I’ve interacted with you and the Femodras incident made me chuckle, I have no complaints on my end and I hope to play with you more.

Kriz is responsible for my current belief that no matter how LRP or gamer a player starts out as, with the right community support and the POWER of FRIENDSHIP they can blossom into a based character-thread-having RPmaxxing chad. Not to say my boy is not ROBUST AS FUCK, most of my bad influence has been encouraging this king of the killing fields to put on the weighted armor of character flaws and wielding the double-edged sword of character personality. Love how bro’s taken it up and run with it. What a chad.

The brotherhood of Demo and Angus is rivaled only by Angus and Taylor. (I want to get you two in on a gimmick at some point, or, more likely, get Demo in on one of Tay’s gimmicks. Bring a dress.)
His gimmick of going full on with the sword even to the detriment of combat effectiveness is a microcosm of what good RP flaws actually means; being willing to take mechanical disadvantages for the BIT.
Demo’s true nature makes me MOTIVATED. His background as an experimental vampire hybrid is PEAK. His personality, allowing for room in crime and punishment scenarios for dialogue is BASED.

One slight piece of constructive criticism, When a spaceman is horizontal, they’re probably no longer a threat, and home dawg has a battle tendency to continue attacking in a bit of a gratuitous fashion.

Vanguard is great, though obviously I don’t have as much experience with the new guy. I enjoyed when he got consolidated into the INS legion.

I have more direct (and memorable) interaction experience with Vanguard, and on all accounts, he has been a joy of a character to see and engage with in-round. In Engineering, he’s fun to work with on various projects because he’s actually willing to listen and work together (rather than run off and go do their own thing like many a engineer are infamous for doing (especially Atmos Techs)), and he knows his stuff. Plus, him and Nilt both being IPCs creates a good roleplay environment between the characters that is enjoyable to experience.

However, as much as I’ve liked seeing Vanguard in Engineering, I’ve actually liked seeing him in Security more. Play on Bee for long enough and you’ll become familiarized with the Security Officers that are reliably ‘good’ in both skill and spirit, and alongside examples like Sleep and Mikel, Vanguard really fits in well. They’re respectful to Command, they don’t jump the gun and go straight to attacking a blatant antag when said antag hasn’t attacked yet (this is highly important for good RP interaction/dialogue), they’re good at communicating under pressure and in creative/improvised/roundabout ways, and they just have a general good standard of roleplay that characters on Bee deserve to have. I can tell that their general technical speech they utilize for Vanguard being an IPC is a good attempt to strengthen the realistic plausibility of Vanguard as a character, and I’m intrigued to see what additional elements Kudzu adds to them in the future.

Overall admirable progress to see considering where Kudzu has come from in the past as a player, and currently one of my favorite characters to run into in a round. Good character, would recommend interacting with him yourself, 10/10.
