Originally I was going to say engaging players more with non-intrusive adminbus, but I feel like that’s been happening a lot more often recently, so instead I’d like to contribute to that more.

Why do you want to be a moderator?:
Truth be told, I kinda fell off of Beestation for a bit due to life stuff as well as just kinda finding myself not sure what to do on the server. I went briefly to a couple other servers, but none of them really matched the community that I enjoy here. As such, I really just wanna help out to keep things going smoothly for this server that I keep coming back to.

I thought I had one that I made and then never played on, but I’m pretty sure I was wrong about that. Plus I don’t have access to the email for it anymore.

I have a lot of patience when it comes to questions
I pick up learning systems very quickly
I’m very good at using “PR language” when necessary

I tend to keep to myself unless someone reaches out to me

Is there anything that gets you really mad, real fast?:
Personal attacks on others, specifically attacks targeting factors people can’t change. I can eat a lot of shit and smile, but it’s really upsetting seeing people take that anger out on those around me.
What do you think is the most important trait for a staff member to have?:
Patience. I feel like so often it’s easy to jump to conclusions about situations, or take actions way too quickly. This could be in regards to administrative action, interpersonal problems, or even just trying to make something fun for someone.
What makes a staff team good?:
Cohesion and communication. You can’t burn the candle on both ends; if one staff member has a completely different idea of what needs to be moderated than another staff member, not only does it cause confusion for staff when they take administrative actions, it causes confusion for the playerbase, and will drive people away on both sides.
What is a staff team’s purpose?:
In this case, to maintain a fun and respectful environment for both new and old players while keeping things generally bound to the rules.
What kind of player are you?:
I feel like this could have a different answer depending on the time. I tend to get a hyper-fixation on something in the game and then focus on that for like, 2 to 3 months. For a while it was doing xenobio stuff, especially the race toxins where I would turn myself into a skeleton named Jeremy Skeleton and go around insisting that people knew me. Then it was making shuttles while playing golem, and more recently I’ve been playing Chef a lot. I really enjoy doing things that I don’t see others do often, going back to the golem shuttles, I would make them almost exclusively out of survival capsules.
How do you think you will change once you become a staff member?:
I’ll admit, there’s a worry that I have rose-tinted glasses on without realizing it, and that I won’t find it fun or engaging. However, I sincerely doubt that’ll be the case, as more often than not recently I’ve found myself just watching admins do their thing in CC when they do something fun.
The clown slips the HoS and steals his gun, spacing it right after. What do you do?:
First off, are they an antag? If so, then I don’t believe there’s any reason to get involved. If not, check their note history to see if this is a repeating pattern of behavior or something new. After that, see if there was any escalation leading up to this, and if would make sense IC for the clown to do this. If it doesn’t make sense IC, or they have a history of this sort of behavior, bwoink em and see if they have a sensible reason for what they did. Note or ban as necessary.
A non-antagonist is sabotaging the Atmospherics loop and pumping plasma into the distro, along with dragging around a canister and releasing it into the atmosphere. Assuming that an admin is cleaning up the after-effects, how do you conduct the ahelp with him?:
Pretty much the same deal as the clown, sans the IC justification and any punishment short of a ban. I doubt someone like that would actually respond to the ahelp, or say anything of particular use inside one, but I would definitely go in playing nice guy for that 1% chance. After the ahelp, distribute a ban with the time based on their notes and their possible history of this on other servers.
A chemist who is working alone accidentally mixes an explosive mixture inside of his chem dispenser, instantly killing himself and destroying the machine, along with exposing Chemistry to space. Nobody else was injured aside from him as a result of his actions. What do you do?:
Check notes to see if this is a reoccurring “accident”. If this is an obvious mistake, bwoink him and let him know that he’s not in trouble, and how to not make the same mistake in the future based on how he messed up. If this is an aforementioned recurring “accident”, apply a note or ban based on previous behavior

I strongly doubt anyone hates you, the lack of questions is mainly due to you being relatively unknown. Not being active in the discord and coming back after a year of inactivity makes it hard to know who you are, though I am aware that you got a lot of playtime on the server.
While it isn’t anything that is stopping you from joining the admin team because of our unfamiliarity towards you, it is still quite unusual, though some admins in the past has done the same. So anyway, do you really wanna close your app?
This is not the case. Staff is not always great at doing things, espcially in a timely manner, and on behalf of us i apologize for any misunderstandings around, but we are happy to have an app even if slow to show.
If you want to cancel your app its your choice, i cant promise itll be seen to in any speed, but can that its appreciated regardless of how it ends up being processed.
As for questions, i am a real-min now, I suppose im given the allowence to ask;

A Roboticist has made over a dozen sec-bots patrolling the station without any sec on, and a sec console in their lab. I have them as my kill target and tried shooting them but got charged by bs bots. Arent they powergaming by sitting in a room with several sec bots??

Killed Dumb.0 the borg (they were annoying me) and just got rushed by a Unamed Cyborg. Theres no sec and the ai did set me to arrest but it feels more like a grudge then following station integrity laws.
How would you handle the two scenes! Anything to investigate/ things to say to players, etc, am curious to hear it all!

Life is tough but i hope things work out. You didn’t waste anyone’s time, we all volunteer to do this, and our part even if slowly. You are always welcome to re-apply, and even without doing so are still a valued member of the community even if it might not feel as such. Reaching out is always effort, and effort sucks, but it can be worth it, so dont be afraid to do so and hang around some more in the discord and itll be obvious you’re enjoyable to be around.
