Incident Description:
So I was an abductor and did really well so I decided to hop on the emergency shuttle as it left. I had an ID with captain’s access on it and decided to quickly ping the auth on early launch to wake any people up who might not have realized the shuttle would have docked as is done all the time and is perfectly acceptable and even nice, right?
Well, Tetra thought it hurt their ears because out of nowhere I get fucking gibbed by a pod with no explanation whatsoever until I ask for one myself. It only lasted about 3 seconds and I stopped then as to not excessively spam.
Additional Information:
I could have been an antag who was about to greentext, thankfully abductors don’t need to be alive to greentext, but holy shit what if I did? Even though I got them sweet Beecoins it still left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth in what otherwise was a great round.
No idea who Tetra is, probably invismin.
But spamming early launch can even get you banned, so I see no reason not to gib you.
I know you are angry but you are wasting everyone’s time with that report.
Even antags can be gibbed for recalling/spamming etc.
Hold on, when the fuck was doing a short shuttle spam against the rules? It’s actually desirable since it’s saved me and others from being stranded before. Just because it’s a rule doesn’t mean you need to act out so extreme to it.
Now that rule is just bullshit. How in tarnation is spamming the shuttle SELF ANTAG??? Also, I wan an antag and it’s also about “tetra” not checking antag status before gibbing.
Wasn’t me, I was in round on the other side of the station. Gotta say you not only scared the crap out of me but also gave me a near heart attack thinking that the heads had authed early launch while I was draggin someone to a pod. Spamming is, as people have said, against the rules and thus may be met with OOC or IC repercussions. The only thing I would have done differently if I were the admin responsible would be bwoink you moments before. The shuttle early auth notifications are extremely loud, and that is on purpose. You only need to do it once to make people go “OH CRAP, THE SHUTTLE!”
Alright, understandable, but it’s still bullshit that it’s listed under self antag and still bullshit that I got gibbed over it without warning when I already stopped. The “spam” was only a few taps as well, barely qualifying for it. Just because it’s technically against the rules doesn’t mean you go trigger happy. Some common sense is needed such as not gibbing the guy when he has already stopped and just warning him.
It’s not technically against the rules, it is entirely against the rules.
Early calling the shuttle makes a loud noise that is heard by all of the players in game. Spamming it quickly in succession turns a loud noise into a loud AND annoying noise
There’s no reason to do it, because the game already announces when the shuttle has arrived at the station.
Even if it’s against the rules you don’t get to react in such a way. It is uncalled for and a warning would have done just fine, even if I don’t agree in the slightest that it should be against the rules.
This is a daily reminder that just because people manage to do something and not be banned or punished for it does not mean that it’s acceptable.
Do not spam shuttle calls. Do not spam shuttle recall. Do not spam shuttle early launch, or shuttle early launch cancel.
Do not spam in game radio, this includes reading your totally hilarious copypasta over comms for the 100th time. Do not spam in game PDA messages. Don’t spam in game emotes. Don’t spam loud noises in game.
