Ban Type:
Server and antag ban
Ban Length:
55 days
Ban Date (YYYY/MM/DD/):
2024/11/03
Round ID:
50543
Ban Reason:
This is a roleplaying server - you have shown considerable lack of RP as both an antagonist and non-antagonist. Everyone has to start somewhere, but you are not showing improvement given warnings so far. Take a break, build a character you want to play as and come back after establishing them. Do not attack players just for looking threatening when you are playing a non-combat role, it’s not your place to be suicidally rushing into combat not just once, but again immediately after the doctors fixed you. If your RP and behavior does not improve the bans will begin escalating from here.
Appeal Reason:
The whole thing happened on round 50542. I rolled traitor for the seventh time in a row, and Ruko used rule 0 to take it away and give it to someone else to see how I play crew. I was playing as a cook at the time. For the majority of the shift, I was cooking food, engaging in chit-chat with the bartender, cooking kebabs for a guy, and engaging in some RP with them. I then had to go SSD to eat IRL to which Ruko later commented: “You handled it by standing AFK in the kitchen for a considerable amount of time” which severely generalizes and exaggerates the situation. When the shuttle arrived, an assistant fully geared with sec gear and esword boarded and started fighting with multiple other crew members. From my POV, he was the aggressor and so I thought that we might stand a better chance against him if I join in. I had a sharpened butcher knife that I used to prepare the meats and I tried using it against them and I hit them multiple times. He eventually critted almost everyone and I got the clown to patch me up I was sure that they must be very low from all the attacks so once the clown was finished (unbuckled me and shook me up), I went back to fighting which resulted in me dying and it turned out he was nowhere close to being low. This whole thing started shortly before the shuttle departed. In my opinion, getting out of the shuttle instead of fighting was not a viable option as I could not possibly reach a pod in that timespan and I would be marooned on the station. Since the shuttle is also considered my workplace, I exercised the right to defend it with whatever I had available.

RukoFamicom admin report - #11 by Marshmellow related
Also, as for the antag ban, the comment I made was blatantly sarcastic. Alien sentinels do not spawn on the station without admin shenanigans. “lingering in dead chat for ghost roles” is yet another severe exaggeration as someone else had to get on the PC at that time and I opted to not close the game and come back once they were done.
Before I even get started with the actual appeal I want to say this was a typo and has already been corrected to 5 days
Onto the actual appeal part, let me start with your activity graph for the round. This is not what I used to make the determination, I was actually orbitting you for the majority of the round, but this shows that what I observed lines up with the logs on a general scale:
The top, low curve is where you went to the bar and had some idle chat with the bartender + got drunk right after the ticket, all well and good - you offer to make them a brain cake and run off to get a morgue body
The four spikes are where you did something else, with very little activity in between:
- Behead body from morgue, make brain cake, afk for a few minutes
- Ask science for monkey cube, Butcher monkey, afk for a few minutes
- make a single burger and a single kebab from monkey, afk for more than 10 minutes
- When you come back you moved two tiles, call in all caps for someone to “CALL THE SHUTTLE!” because of SM delamination in progress and go afk again until it just about arrives.
- Two shuttle fights with medical care in between, during which you said one thing and didn’t respond to the person trying to de-escalate you went ham on.
I disagree whole-heartedly and I believe the activity graph shows this. Processing the food you did are such large spikes because making those three food items were just about all you did aside from the shuttle fights.
You were not present or responsive to crew that showed up when they did except for the kebab and one other person that you made small talk with.
“Multiple other” is only true well after you are removed from the fight. There was only the one victim at the time you jumped in, and it continued to be only you two + the crit body until after you were in crit yourself. Everyone else that showed up stayed out of the fight for this time except for one that was only trying to break it up and not actually attacking the guy.
To show this with logs:
The exact moment you walked up the fight was already decided and it was only these two, you are the third person on the shuttle. They opened with “back off chef”. You don’t back off and are clearly trying to attack them due to throwing a missed pie and hitting terrain objects with knife so they start by non-lethally subduing you:
You’re in stamcrit here and more people are starting to arrive, but you are still the only other person attacking the chef at this point:
This third person is not fighting the chef, just being hit by them because they are trying to break up the fight between you two. This time the other player actually crits you because they’ve had enough of your aggression:
With the only attacker (you) removed from the equation, the other player goes back to trying to talk down the situation. Lydia pulls you away from them to get medical care here, and then tries to talk to them after they say this:
Lydia is then put into crit while you’re out of commission. They are the third and final victim of this player. You get back up from receiving medical care and immediately attack them again:
With those logs out of the way, I take special issue with this. He crit three people total - the person he was initially fighting which was already in crit when you showed up, you (stamcrit), you again (actual crit), then Lydia, then you a third time.
This is what you said to me in the ticket regarding your limited knowledge of the fight:
Taking this at face value - you’re right, I can’t expect you to know everything. But looking at it through the lens of only what happened while you were able to see - he never attacked anyone but his initial target and you who he was defending himself from, and as far as you know from the initial fights with you he may have only been defending himself.
He never crit anyone except you and Lydia, and he also allowed Lydia to receive care although it didn’t finish before round-end.
The whole thing started immediately after the shuttle had docked. You were literally the third person on the shuttle.
You started the fight at 15:34:08 and the round ended at 15:38:46 before the shuttle had docked. You would have boarded the shuttle no later than 22 seconds after it arrived, and that would only be if you had died the exact second it arrived at centcom, so you actually boarded it somewhere earlier than that.
I’m also going to point out that this isn’t the first time behavior similar to the shuttle fight has happened either. You once attacked someone (an assistant) for dragging a captain. Not the captain’s corpse, or a cuffed captain, but just for trying to take the captain somewhere.
Beestation does not have valids.
I don’t recall that but I will take your word for it. Shuttle fights happen sometimes and they are not equivalent to necesarily breaking rules. I don’t remember the context so I cannot say anything else.
First of all, you forgot the critical fact that I also made a meat pizza.
Now that we have that out of the way, the reason I didn’t dedicate myself to the round as much is because of the before mentioned times I had to go AFK is because I was filing a staff report and I was already not enjoying things since the round started considering you in my opinion baselessly used rule 0 to take my antag and knowing that I will be under constant scrutiny only encourages me to do as little as possible to reduce the chance of breaking the rules. All in all, I am able to do well as a regular crew member but not under the pressure of an admin watching over my shoulder and being treated unfairly from my POV. As for the shuttle fight, I just used common sense. I tried my best to do what a normal person would in real life in my position and I am convinced that rule lawyering that delves deep into logs just to prove I infringed upon the rules is not fun for anybody.
Due to open report
Hello, and thanks for making an appeal!
Due to the nature of this ban and the associated staff report, I’ll be the one handling it instead of Ruko.
After looking through the logs, hearing what both you and Ruko have had to say on the issue, and from what I’ve seen from you in the past, I am going to uphold the antagonist ban.
Do note that the antagonist ban is for a separate reason than the one mentioned:
Repeatedly poor conduct as an antagonist followed up with blatant desire to grief as one: “I was hoping it would be a station ghost role so I could finally fuck over the crew” stated after lingering in dead chat for ghost roles after dying as an overly aggressive traitor yet again.
While I agree that the removal of your antagonist mentioned in the appeal was done in poor form, what happened in the round happened, and you were given several opportunities to improve your performance as an antagonist before this. When this ban expires, please give antagonist conduct a re-read remember to do the best you can to make the round interesting for everyone!
I hope that clears things up!
