Title: [CKEY] banned by [Admin’s CKEY]

CKEY:

Aphielanisn

Admin’s CKEY:

rkz

Ban Type:

job ban

Ban Length:

60 days

Ban Date (YYYY/MM/DD/):

2026-01-24 21:49:45

Round ID:

n/a

Ban Reason:

You have consistently allowed OOC anger over IC conflicts bleed ingame, leading to toxic/retaliatory actions. After being killed by INS, you immediately sought revenge, shared IC information that shouldn’t have remembered, and then spent the rest of the round (nearly 20 messages) talking about how you wanted to “shit into his MMI port”. This is the exact behavior you were warned about in December after your permaban appeal, and then a long talk with a senior about expectations going forward. You acknowledged to him, that future incidents of this nature would be escalated. This is that escalation. As per the player report, in lieu of QC ban, I am choosing to enact a roleban to restrict you from mechanics-based roles and PvP roles to encourage actual roleplay with the community. This is the result of a player report: [Aphielanisn] Player Report +_+ - #17 This may be appealed in 2 months time (March 24th, 2026) with the expectation behavior has improved.

Appeal Reason:

The ban was applied assuming at some point I had been perma-banned. This is incorrect that perma(style) ban was only applied to get me to come to the forum to talk to the admin because I had not been aware there was a complaint on the forum and the admin wasn’t online at the same time as I was. That’s why afterwards it was reduced to 2 days.

This behavior was extreme to such a degree that this ban is permanent until a reasonable explanation is given on the forums.

You are technically correct, but it’s not standard to make a permanent ban as a result of a forum report as implied by the quoted portion of the ban message; it’s only done when someone has done something especially severe, enough to warrant completely preventing them from playing until they answer for what they had done.

The behavior logged from that report was so hostile I thought someone had hacked your account and was trying to get you banned - that and other admins’ ideas as to what caused the dramatic shift in behavior during that round are the origin of the “bingo card” statement I made.

At that time it had been a long while since the last offense, and you handled the appeal calmly so the punishment given was treating it like an isolated incident rather than repeated behavior.

You repeated the same behavior less than a month later and were handled by @ro5490 for it, and convinced them not to take action despite now having two very egregious outbursts in a relatively short time frame.

It then happened again in the reported round.

It then happened again during a nukie round right as the report was being finalized.

It has happened in other rounds and went under the radar until now as well.

This ban is justified and you are honestly lucky it wasnt a QC already because some of us have seen the good you do as well. Show that good side to everyone else consistently now instead of listening to the voice that tells you to respawn as a security officer to get back at the antag who killed you as a kill objective.

I spoke to you in length, not even that long ago, about your outbursts.
We had a very long conversation about things and once you’d calmed down things seemed productive and helpful to talk about. Focusing on how to properly respond to IC conflicts without causing any OOC issues, and how your actions can negatively impact other players OOC’ly who are just playing their IC character and aren’t deliberately targeting you OOC’ly.

I even suggested getting to know the community better and interacting with them more, to help you realize that in-game actions are not a personal OOC attack on you, and I thought we’d reached a decent conclusion there, and you even admitted to me that a ban on that occasion would have been reasonable.

I wont lie, I’m rather disappointed in your actions since then as I’d hoped to see an improvement.
And after participating in the internal discussions related to this current ban, seeing an appeal up for it is also rather disappointing as we’re trying to give you a chance to interact with the community in-game rather than isolate yourself in mechanics based jobs.

I’d love for you to try and interact with the community more and try and understand how the impact you can cause with your outbursts can be incredibly detrimental to everyone involved. And to understand that at the end of the day, its just a game. Theres always going to be another round, another chance to do things, and that in-character conflict is bound to happen regularly.

But thats the key thing, IC conflict will happen eventually, and its just In-Character, not a direct targeted attack on you OOC.

I’ve seen how you can interact, I’ve seen that you can be a really good player and that your characters can be entertaining to interact with, I’ve seen that you’re able to be a good part of our community, but your outbursts can be really nasty and you need to get a hold of them.

This is your chance to do so, if your outbursts keep happening you’ll eventually be QC banned, which isn’t ideal, and other servers may not be so lenient with how they handle things.

Please just take this on board, I know things can be incredibly frustrating but handling how you direct your anger and frustration is key to many things in life, not just gaming.

I hope to see a decent improvement in the future man, I know you can do it.

This would be a fair argument if that were the last incident that had occurred prior to this one, however it is not. The semantic reference I had made to the earlier permaban was contextual, it was not used as the basis for this ban’s severity.

This ban was not issued out of ignorance, given I had both Ruko and Ro’s approval for it.
The current ban is escalating based on your discussion with Ro in December and the incidents since then. The presence of clear expectations and the failure to follow through is what has led to this.

RO and Ruko have already gotten to this and said their piece, so this will wrap up rather cleanly.

The appeal is denied.

Sorry for the bump.

I’d also advise re-joining the discord and interacting with people, It’d be great to see you interacting and talking with people rather than isolating yourself from the community
