Space law specifically states this at the beginning of the page.
The rules and regulations herein are not absolutes, instead they exist to serve mainly as guidelines for the law and order of the dynamic situations that exist for stations on the frontiers of space, as such some leeway is permitted.

Wearing a Syndicate space suit is something that any crew member should be alarmed at as it even says in the item description that NT personnel are trained to report it. Chainshoving is not ideal but nor is it an entirely unreasonable response.
And then he turns out to have a desword, and all escalation from there is valid because you’re scared for your life. I can understand wanting to parole an EoC due to this whole “chill sec” thing (despite it being against current MRP rules right now as you’re supposed to follow Space Law, which means EoCs should get perma’d) but you don’t let them keep their contraband, neither the desword nor the space suit really.

Honestly I would of been fine with them keeping the suit but you don’t let someone who you know was recruited by the syndicate just walk around with a deadly deadly weapon like that

Maybe you’d be fine with it but it’s against the server rules right now since Space Law must be followed or you can get banned. Until it’s changed this fuck up was on Security’s side not yours.

Some leeway. They let him go without taking any of his weaponry, without giving him any punishment, and just giving him a tracking implant and chem implant which I didn’t know until Caeci told me

Are you? If someone pulls a weapon and can easily be disarmed literally right next to you, would you do it?
That and in some cases like Guilleco’s last straw appeal, there can be player input which is exonerating/damning/further proves that they may not be as good as they imagine. Especially prevalent for high profile people.

And you killed them. It’d almost be fine if you revived them afterwords and just said “oopsie I punched them one too many times,” but killing them and keeping them dead is too far.

I did try to do it nonlethally, clown attacked me while I was waiting for literally anyone to help me with the clear and obvious tator so I had to escalate and protect myself, just disarming him and running wasn’t enough anymore
If sec wasn’t going to help, I wasn’t going to let him keep the sword he just pulled out after telling me he is tator
“Yeah, I’m here to kill people” pulls out weapon

The thing you’re not understanding here is that sometimes you’re supposed to lose. You should have just taken the L and died to the desword.
Imagine how much better off you’d be. You’d be salting in deadchat for a couple minutes, sure, but you wouldn’t eat a big fat spicy ban.

Validhunting (seeking/baiting players to kill in validity) in turn, makes you valid.
This is may be on the lrp rules page, but it is still the only definition to valid we have on MRP as well.
Alex was not the one baiting by chainshoving, its the traitor’s fault for wearing the black and red suit and baiting a response from crew members.
The traitor seeked a response, and they got one.
It’s called creating witnesses just so you can kill em. Which, as I understand, is murderboning as well.
Other traitors have gotten banned for doing this sort of thing as well, yet this traitor gets a pass because they were killed by a non security member? jesus christ.

Because just because we’re meant to lose doesn’t mean we do. This game is all about defeating what we’re supposed to do. Pulling off the impossible. I’m not here to die to every tator. Every chuck michael and Kate that comes at me with a sword thinking their the world won’t win. We have a term for people that can beat others no matter the odds. It’s called robust. Guilleco was robust. Owen Mcshain (bitch got himself banned on purpose) was robust. Halinder is robust. Sasukex is robust. Alfred Collins was robust. Collin blue is robust. Tianmen was robust. We didn’t ban them for beating the odds. We didn’t ban them because when someone pulled out a sword they didn’t lay down and die just because they were supposed to do.

I didn’t ask for your motivations and don’t care, I was merely suggesting you try it out. You can’t change the server, so change yourself to fit it instead.
If you don’t like the prospect of that, find a new server.
