FUCK, I was beaten to the joke
I like seeing the fruits of my labor. This is why I main jobs like chef or janitor, where you can see the result of putting effort into a shift. And of course the occasional antagonist where I can unwind and do some criminal tomfoolery.
Something something beestation something something life sentence
To me SS13 has the uniqe abilty to always feel fresh since no round or server is the same. There’s always something new to try out and interactions that I can have with others that I’ll never get to experience twice. Other online games often get super tedious and boring after a while.
RPing is another reason I like it as a game. There’s nothing more fun than playing character that acts completely differently to each other and seeing how others react to them.
This game can be whatever you want it to be. If you want it to be a big sandbox for you to tide and beat the shit out of people, it’s that. If you want to take your time and RP as if you’re really on in space station with talking lizardpeople and moths, you can do that too.
It’s not a perfect game, there rarely is any games that is, but for me it’s pretty dang close to being a perfect.
Also, this game and more so this coummunity helped me get out of a social rut that I was stuck in which I can’t thank enough really.
There isnt anything even remotely close to it out there. Plus the amount of ridiculous shenanigans you can get involved in is truly special
so that I can come up with a way to enter lifeweb 13
jokes aside, it’s a very unique and in-depth game, and I really enjoy having to actually learn stuff to play properly instead of “HURR DURR HERO NUMBER #1293 BLADE WEAK AGAINTS #8974’S ARMOR FOR SOME REASON”
this is basically what i meant when i replied, dunno why people memed it
I don’t know in particular, it’s probably because I can’t play D’n’D and I’ve outgrown the chat site I used to frequent.
Though I’ve only ever played Bee station, I’m not really interested in learning the whole game especially since TG feels like a rather large clusterfuck space sim like Elite dangerous, though I may be wrong in that regard.
I like the game and various interactions with the mechanics, but the more mundane RP side also really does something for me, I’m more MRP type.
Personally I wish the game was in 3d, given I’m an FPS addict, having it be set in first person would also be kinda neat, though that seems like asking like alot.
I usually take long breaks but it’s just such a unique game that I enjoy a lot! From alien vs marines, to deadspace 13, to cev. This game is amazing!
Honestly yeah this is another reason I play SS13. It’s really the closest you can get to playing DND expect it might be better in some regarts. DND takes time to oragnize and schedule, then you have to hope everyone in the party is there for the meet up, make your character sheet, create your class etc.
On SS13, you log in make a character, have a basic idea of what you want to do RP wise and do it. No waiting, just straight into it. Of course you can take your time to devlop a character but it’s not necessary to start playing.
Simple, I don’t ![]()
at first it was a breath of fresh air.
Next it was fun to learn all the mechanics.
After that was all done it was gaining mastery over said mechanics.
Then it was simply enjoying some good funny rounds.
Before long it was routine to play, but still interesting.
later it was about just being a meme magnet and doing the funny.
Now its just when the mood strikes me.
Soon I may be gone (to monke) if the direction keeps going downward towards heavier roleplay elements.
To live out my dreams as an underpayed janitor.
