I know, i’ve done it multiple times before. But i dont really see the point. Sure you might save a few bucks on electricity at the cost of having someone wear off their pc running 24/7 (because otherwise whats the point, unless im wrong) that is if you find someone willing.
VPS is an option because essentially its just a pc running 24/7 but at that point you might aswell get a dedicated server.

just use aternos or some other free hoster for the server. Make a discord group of people who want to play on the server, ping the discord group when servers up
as long as one person is online, server stays up. may have ping issues idk lol.
Aternos will lag too much. I also thought about the discord server though
