Unless this was just referring to the incident with Kate Bishop then I wasn’t given the full reasoning for this ban. The entirety of our discussion was something like “why did you shoot Kate?” and I said because they were Unknown, had a fire axe and resisted arrest by dodging disabler shots. Admittedly I used lethal shots after that point (yes you can post the meme) but I had been already chasing Good Boy who’d murderboned most of the station for the past half hour and was still keyed up. To go and ban me for that one mistake is a bit ridiculous, I’m not perfect.

I healed them up from crit in the Brig before taking them to a cell. My instincts were proven right, they committed Grand Theft by stealing a reflector vest and turned out to have a holoparasite. As an aside it’s pretty cringe they ahelped because they got caught as a traitor. So coming back to the main topic, I don’t know what this ban is for for it to be called “aggressive validhunting” for not handling one traitor with kid gloves, and to be honest even using that word in the same sentence as “HoS” requires some extremely serious evidence for it.

Additional Information: I don’t really care that the ban timer is likely going to be over before this gets replied to, it just shows it was a unworthy ban if you’re going to only make it 4 hours, so I want it purged from my record.

Autorifles are not cutting-edge tech. A disabler is not cutting-edge tech. Bruh moment.

This is by no means a exhaustive list of items that are high value to the syndicate; when in doubt use common sense when you see certain items that are stolen that can cause massive problems throughout the station. Remember if something is locked up in a secure area it probably should not be taken without prior permission.

Usually guns, when stolen, can cause some pretty big problems for security, especially since they’re locked up in a secure area where they should not be taken without permission

From what I see in the thread I have to take Victor’s side in this.

(Unknown) running down the hall with fire axe warrants a search and identification on its own. Resisting sec and then having them realize you’re wearing an item only security should have access to warrants immediate escalation to me

Armed and Dangerous - if a suspect is in possession of weapons, including stun weapons, and you have reasonable suspicion that they will use these against you, lethal force is permitted.

Capital Crimes
These crimes can result in Execution, Permanent Prison Time, Permanent [Labor Camp] Time, or Cyborgization.

It’s within ‘reasonable suspicion’ to suspect someone resisting arrest while already apparently guilty of grand theft is armed and dangerous. This is not actually what the law says; just my opinion.

It’s not cherry-picking. Grand theft applies to most traitor theft objectives.
But yes, Cargo breaking into crates they don’t have access to is theft of a varying degree depending on the contents, unless they have permission.

Cargo is not allowed to order weapons of any kind for themselves without permission or a current crisis, but it’s not grand theft. Many situations like this are considered power gaming on MRP too.

So let me get this straight…

An armed and mysterious suspect is running around and refuses to yield for a search or identify themselves.

The suspect evades non-lethal attempts and still refuses to surrender.

You then use lethal force but do not kill the suspect and instead heal them up right away.

You find out they are indeed a traitor based on their suspicious behavior.

And you got banned?

This is an outrageously dumb ban if these are the events that unfolded.

Victor finds borg in the armory, questions its presence, asks the borg to state laws and immediately escalates to lethal force when borg disobeys direct command from a head of staff. Could not find verification of the attempt to pry open panel because I’m not sure which log those actions appear in. This is definitely questionable escalation, but not 100% unwarranted - it’s also noteworthy that this escalation ocurred against the banning admin, which definitely lends credence to the ban later.

Kate more or less reveals that she is probably an antagonist after the reflector vest. Victor takes no action on this at all. There’s a 40-minute break between this and the next time these two interact violently.
I’m not sure what discussions may have taken place, but based on this conversation alone, any security officer would be suspicious of Kate if they later found them wearing the Reflector Vest… which is exactly what happened.
