the general admin consensus is that breaking into armory as nonantag is selfantaging

If it’s done excessively or for the purposes of starting an armed conflict.

Breaking into Sec? Perfectly fine
Stealing from Sec supplies/armory Also fine in most cases
Directly interfering with sec? Not fine, but can be justified in a few fringe cases
Killing security officers? This is straight up self-antag in almost every case

You may not imprison, strip, seriously injure or kill security or the captain for doing their job properly, unless you are an antagonist or they are valid to everyone, Deputies and other heads of staff are NOT protected by this ruling.

Examples:

When sec/captain is protected:

• You break into the armoury and the warden starts to shoot at you.
• You rush the spare and a sec officer disablers you.
• You steal an assistant’s toolbelt after a fight and sec arrests you.

When sec/captain is NOT protected (ie you can escalate normally)

• A sec officer is revealed as a changeling.
• You steal an assistant’s toolbelt after a fight and sec starts shooting at you with lethals.
• The captain murders Ian.
• Security gives you a blatantly unfair and absurd brig time, like 15 minutes for shoving them, or perma for a first offence of petty theft.

This is intended to restore some measure of protection to security on LRP, allowing them to do their job properly without getting valided by assistants. By doing so, we hope to increase the numbers of people playing sec on LRP, and thus making it harder for antagonists to kill everyone, thereby giving a higher stable pop
