Incident Description:
This incident took place fairly early in the round. I was a cyborg on a station with no engineers, and as such I had to setup the SM as an engineering module. After I’d done the initial setup, I went out to find someone to put in the plasma tanks for me, and after a while I found the captain (Curium) and CMO (Alva).

Since the captain at the time was a plasmaman, I told them I’d need to use their hands, and tried to bring them over to the SM. After ~3 tiles the captain then drew their laser weapon and shot me to death with it, and the CMO joined in with their sidearm.

After this, I was abandoned for a bit before being detonated using the robotics control console. The CMO then debrained my MMI and put it in a humanized monkey.

Additional Information:
Several other cyborgs and AI shells were also detonated during the round leading to various injuries (apparently due to a conflict between the AI and captain, although I was an unsynced cyborg due to the AI being a latejoin and was uninvolved), although I’m not sure who exactly was responsible for each one.

So I was the CMO that round, and essentially i was just acting on the captians orders because the asimov AI decided the best course of interpreting the lawset was to refuse even stating what their laws were or assisting any of the command staff, and was actively sabotaging the captain and I from fixing the situation.

When I walked up and saw the captain start shooting I had interpreted that he was in some form of danger and so I assisted him. Then after he was gone I went back to find you to bring you to robotics, but when i found you gone I traveled to robotics to find your MMI lying on the floor in the middle of a dark hallway, so I brought you back into the game as, I figured the captain probably would try killing you again. Which the captain killed tons of borgs that round, only time i ever stepped in was that one moment.

We had an RD that round too, and he basically refused to fix the AI and sat in toxins for the entire round making a max cap to set off when we got to centcom. So yeah at the time with the AI’s behavior i didn’t find it too plausible that it might have been malf and you actually might have been trying to kill the captain. I just didn’t have proper context to say otherwise.

I was the Captain this round. (My CKEY was DRD2021).

The AI was shocking doors on me pretty much the entire shift, and did not know you were unsynced. I overeselated, yeah, but I was under the impression you were synced and were attempting to kill me. 100% my bad, though.

I was Warden that round, Kalavi lumen.

I can confirm, there were some silicon casualties resulting from the confusion caused by the non-compliant Asimov A.I.

It wound up being something of a “non-humans vs Asimov Silicons” as the A.I. refused to follow the orders of the captain citing something along the lines of “He is not human and thus I do not answer to him” even when it was asked to state laws.

Later on the captain was even killed by what I have to assume was an A.I linked mining borg after getting locked in robotics, shortly after killing 2(?) borgs because of the whole hulabalu of the situation caused by the A.I.

I was not synced, but I thought I was synced. Mistake on my part, missed whatever in chat told me I wasn’t synced anymore. The AI was telling me to kill him, and that he was harmful to humans.
EDIT: was the same lawset as AI though

Asinine-mov A.I. is trying to kill captain because it is non-human and it is being obstinate with it’s lawset.

Unlinked Asimov Borg is trying to kill captain because A.I. is saying captain is causing human harm.

We are not the same.

The law abiding AI… though it does not have to obey non-humans it also should not seek to actively kill them for no reason.

I was unsynced at the time, and uninvolved in the AI issue. I was trying to set up the SM.

Your death was well within reason if the ai was trying to kill cap then all borgs are suspect anyway.

Detonating a cyborg is still a dick move, especially since they had no evidence I had done anything wrong, and the cyborg control console clearly shows the link state of any connected cyborgs.

AI then proceeds to set Captain to arrest, Captain grabs some sechuds and found that they are set to arrest, tells Warden that AI is a shitter and asks to be removed from Arrest, and also tells CMO that AI is a shitter. There is also some omitted back-and-forth between Captain and AI, captain saying there’s loopholes and AI setting fines on the Captain

My analysis: Captain is a bit iffy, but is okay in assuming the cyborgs are now out to get him as he is attempting to gain access to upload as a non-human, he didn’t have the proper knowledge to know if BenBot is synced or not, though investigating the blown borgs is a different story.

Verdict:

Sorry for taking so long, but after careful deliberation, the Asimov setting Captain to arrest is fine, though the Captain continued to escalate the situation, taking stuff out of the armory, forcing the AI to continue escalating. The Captain should seek to preserve very expensive cyborgs whenever possible, and not outright blow them up, and OOC-ly there are people on the other end of the cyborgs, absolutely hindering or ruining a round when you could just lockdown or have them serviced at Robotics is unacceptable.

The RD latejoins as the only human head of staff and proceeds to ignore requests by the Captain to fix or refit the Asimov AI, their second priority only to running Science, and spends a majority of the rest of the round preparing an EORG max cap, which is then to their dismay disarmed at CC, and verbally abuses those who disarm it in LOOC and OOC.
